ZOS was trying super hard to get an E rating and that meant no form of violence against children could exist / ZOS didn't consider making children unkillable like Bethesda does with Skyrim and Fallout.
Children would be a cool addition. Can really change the atmoshpere when in town.

Being a 5 star forum user who joined September 2013 I would think you would know about the search function @SG_Celerrimus. This topic has been discussed and insulted ad nauseum.
Here: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/search?adv=&search=where+are+the+Children?&title=&author=&cat=all&tags=&discussion_d=1&discussion_question=1&discussion_poll=1&comment_c=1&comment_answer=1&within=1+day&date=
The ONLY response we've ever received is:ZOS_JasonLeavey wrote: »randolphbenoit - Why no children in the game? Feels unreal only adults and chickens everywhere...
Hermaeus Mora knows...
And we discussed that here: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/161465/no-children-in-eso-hermaeus-mora-knows-why/p1
And I know I'm going to sound like some hipster radicalist, but I blame society for this (I KNOW I KNOW I'M SORRY). But because of all the incidences where people can't seem to distinguish real life from video games, it has led companies to have certain realistic things not be allowed to be added to their games (children for example because of violence against children). Not that I agree with it nor do I think they should, but I'm surprised PETA didn't try to get animal violence removed from the game.
Point being, we can blame people that cant distinguish (or won't) real life from video games. These exclusions are not oversights. They are intentional, because of organizations like the ERSB (I think tthat's it, I don't feel like googling, cause I'm lazy), monitor them very heavily on their content.
And yes, as stated they could have made them unkillable, but at that point I think we're better without them. In my opinion it would be more immersion breaking to have everyone's children be invincible, but hey Timmy, once you turn 18, people can kill you. Even if your not a bad guy.
But that's just my personal opinion. I know it's not the only opinion out there.
Maybe everyone is sterile? Lol.
Another theory is that we are in a Dragonbreak which means everything we do in ESO is in an alternate timeline that will eventually be wiped from ever happening. I hope this isn't the case.
The topic keeps coming back because there is an obvious desire for immersion. Lack of children (and elderlies) really breaks the atmosphere, imo.

You'll soon see loons saying children in TESO will create real-life child murderers (that BS has literally been said on these forums by unstable, so-called, "parents").
Would be create to see children in this game, but sadly any chances of that happening are very low thanks to vocal morons.

wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.... wait....
wait....
wait.
So you're implying that actions in a fictional world don't automatically fill the player with urges to mimic those actions in real life?

I know, right? lol.
The parent on the crusade against apparent future child-killers was attacking anyone who said otherwise.

This could fit into a player housing and home dwelling DLC quite well.

MIND BLOWN!
I never even thought of this! If this was the case (it don't matter to me anyways because I'm enjoying eso so much) then ZOS could pretty much do what ever they wanted even release lore breaking things. Would this really be so bad? I would not want anything over the top but it would satisfy both types of player that are torn between wanting Dragons/pink ponies to the ones wanting epic TES dark and gritty stories.
I'm going to look into this Dragonbeak thing some more because this is one of the most interesting theories I've heard that's actually in TES.

Agreed. I saw a baby crib in the game and it reminded me how fake the world is.
I don't understand what how many stars has to do with anything.... I only started posting on the forums last week and I'm already at two stars.... that doesn't make me any more knowledgeable than someone with 1 or no stars.

Actually, ZOS tried for a T rating, but it ended up on the border between T and M. Some cases of foul language pushed it into the M category.
