Best race for templar?

Hey people I am looking to make a templar. I'd like to focus on healing but I would also like to wear heavy armor and be able to tank if I need to. So given that what would be the best race for me to pick? Bare in mind this is mainly geared towards a pve dungeon focus. Thanks to anyone who can help!

healing and tanking only - breton / imperial
dps - altmer

You'll have a hard time doing both. You can do both, but your morphs will favor one or the other, and you'll have to have 2 sets of gear. As a healer, you want lots and lots magicka and regen, which means light armor. As a tank, you want lots of health and stamina. There are some abilities that have morphs that help one build or the other so you'll have to choose.

Again, you can do both, but one or both of those builds would be not as effective as it could be.

Pick one or the other, going both might initially stretch you quite thin.

An Imperial makes a good tank, a Breton makes a good healer and either an Altmer or a Dunmer can make a decent DPS Templar.

That really depends on what you want to do with your char in general and if you want to be an extraordinary healer or an extraordinary tank or mediocre in both.

If you want to do stuff like trial hardmodes, you have to decide between tanking or healing. For veteran dungeons you can normally do both. I play a healer, but I can switch to tank for most dungeons, if needed. But in trials I will always be a healer, because tanking would be too hard with my CP and stat distribution.

I would say:
Healer, that is just healing: Breton
Good healer, that is off-dpsing: Altmer
Tank: Imperial

Of course others may prefer other races, but that would be my preferences.

Incorrect question to ask... best race for stamina and best race for magicka... or best race for health... that's really all that matters. Templar can do any of these things.
