Hey guys, I've been thinking about what I want in the dark brotherhood when it's finally added since the e3 tease. I think the dark brotherhood is extremely important to the longevity of this game. The DB has been a crucial part of every modern TES game and ZOS needs to get it right.
Here's a few wishes from me,

-DB needs to be different from the fighters/mages guilds. It needs to be NOTHING like the other two guilds. I want a story that actually makes me want to play and further my character into the nightlife of a dark brotherhood assassin. We need npcs in the guild that have personality and have a history. Think of the oblivion brotherhood. Each npc had a personality and made you want to understand them. As you fulfilled contracts, they treated you with more respect and you actually became immersed in this murderous cult. I want my character to be based around the fact that he/she is a DB member. Not just "oh yeah, I completed the five quest and am now the listener, on to the next zone."

-]Dailies/constant updates to the story. I don't want it to be a 5 quest line and that's it. It needs to have dailies/contracts for me to do. I want a to truly be immersed in the DB. This means updates to new story arcs with every patch or every other. PvE players need dailies(similar to the radiant quest in Skyrim, but less repetitive.) Maybe good looking gear or costumes( NO CROWNSTORE) that we can complete quests and missions to achieve.
PvP player can get contracts to kill certain high ranking enemy players in their home alliance. Like a bounty hunter system. I don't have all the ideas worked out but I must have faith that ZOS can find a way to make it so. Maybe as an alternative to the other portion of the Justice system.

Please ZOS, DO NOT underestimate the love of the Dark Brotherhood. The game cannot afford for this crucial aspect to be butchered and homogenized like the Fighter's and Mage's guild.

- I understand probably 50% + of the DB story is written, but I do hope that it is similar to how me(and thousands) of players need the Dark Brotherhood to feel more like a TES storyline, and less like a painfully average MMO storyline.
- Feel free to add in everyone else. I do hope the DB exceeds our expectations, it needs to.

Agreed, this was my favorite quest lines in the ES series and I was almost always both happy and disappointed upon completion. Happy that I made it to listener and disappointed that there would be no more quests in the line unless an expansion had included some new ones.

I hope they aren't as stale as the Fighters and Mages Guild stories (although the Mages Guild was the more entertaining and fulfilling of the two). As I recall the DB has a darker, longer and more rich history than the Fighters and Mages do.

I agree with the OP that there should be dailies but they shouldn't become stale or repetitive. However, I feel that this would likely become the case as Zos has other projects planned to target other players wants and needs in the game and that long-term handling of new guilds added and those already in game will be too much for Zos to handle while continuing to make the overall community happy.

look at it in perspective, PC has had the game for little over a year now and and now it hit consoles. Zos still hasn't effectively given PC any new content for almost the same amount of time since release and currently Zos is struggling to fix the issues with consoles and keep console players happy in order to sustain the longevity of the game. Also from what I am reading in forums, the community while happy with the prospect of receiving new content, seem rather unhappy with the constant changes to classes and the VR/CP system.

So, unless Zos restructures the company or hire on additional developers to handle current issues and the workload of upcoming content, my advice would be to simply to prepare for the worst. That way if the DB content is trash you aren't sorely disappointed and if it's great then you'll be truelly excited and thankful to the omnipotent Zos gods.

Agreed! The Mages Guild and Fighters Guild were very disappointing and had no immersion or feeling of belonging, to them what so ever. I wanted what you just described for the Vampire and Werewolf quest as well; those were very disappointing.

I am hoping that the Dark Brotherhood has character and guild growth dependent on your actions and missions taken. Not just, oh thanks for finishing this short quest line.

Maybe just maybe the Dark Brotherhood will turn out to be an ever evolving quest line and the others guilds will follow in suit after its release.

I think that the Dark Brotherhood is many players favorite guild in previous Elder Scrolls entries. I definitely like the OP ideas for the upcoming DLC. There is a lot they could do with it, and hopefully it's not just random missions.

Perfectly said. I was thinking along the lines of the same thing. I want the DB to have a continuous storyline, be in many different dailies to do around the world, and have a rich storyline and make it feel like a family, like it did in the single player games. That was always my most cherished and favorite part of TES series. Adding skill-lines as well, and costumes and perhaps motifs to buy via building your reputation with the DB. The possibilities are endless. The mages guilds and fighters guilds were somewhat disappointing. I do hope they will work on them too and add more stories with them, and dailies with those guilds as well. The thieves guild was a second favorite for me, so that too can have many possibilities as well.

    I love your post.

As much as i want Darkbrotherhood in to game i dont want if it will mean that ZoS is go add new VR lvl to game each time that add new content.
