How pointless would it be to use a bow iff 99% of the shoots are missing you Targets in pvp

People would just have to lean how to... you know... shoot a leading arrow.

First, lag. Second, I think anyone would find it impossible to fire at a target that is closing on you while using evade/bolt escape/shadow cloak. Then they stab you.
It is a bit cheap but it works and bows would be useless otherwise with the speed everyone moves around at. The only time you'd be able to hit a target in PvP was if they were standing still, and less than ten metres away.

At least you can roll-dodge arrows. (I think?)

    Yes, you can.

    Hi,

Is it only me or when you move and someone (AI) is shooting you with an arrow, it follow you like a missile? It's doing kind of curve to hit you...

    Thx

I don't see how you haven't noticed, but there's no aim in the game. Under the hood it's using a badly disguised tab targeting system.

if you had a significant chance of missing with a Bow most would use Melee

OP, they can also go through rocks, trees, and miscellaneous other "impenetrabile" structures.

Moving will do nothing for you (forget breaking LoS), roll dodging can sometimes break the 'target lock' though.

Much of it also has to do with latency, as for your client side, it's just an animation. It either "connects" (server side) or you dodge. In either case, more often than not, that determination has already been made well before you react one way or the other.

Same hold true for other skills that are supposed to be broken via Line of Sight, yet you can't target someone through a sapling that is 98% open air.

Hit boxes are and always have been a major flaw of this game.

@BuggeX , they managed it just fine in the standalones. Still offered a miss chance, which got smaller as your skill line advanced. It also included "passives" which gave advanced feature, different quality of weapons (less drop), etc.

Of course, you could also target specific body parts and the damage/effect would occur accordingly. (Crit someone in the leg and they'll be limping, not sprinting, for instance.) This is also irrelevant in the current design.

Again, they could split the difference. However, since that would require better physics simulation than they currently use and the server load would be phenomenal, I don't see it happening.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

But my point was target lock is good if you aim at your enemy, but if you are shooting backward, it's just ridiculous. If the enemy is in your field of view, it should hit or miss and do less damage if you are far away...
