How to Replace Veteran Ranks

Ok so this is just an idea that my Guild Master came up with being a game developer herself. But I thought it was rather brilliant so I wanted to share the idea with others here:

So instead of having veteran rank requirements to wear armor, why not make it so that equipment requires certain amounts of CP to wear? Like in order to wear so-and-so you would need at least 75 CP. I feel like that would make getting rid of vet ranks easier and it still keeps that incentive to play because you have to work towards something. It's also more appealing because not only would it be a goal to finally wear the armor or weapon, but you would have obtained all those champions points to get it making you stronger along the way and since CPs are relatively easy to get, I think it would still be enjoyable.

Any thoughts?

Not something she came up with herself... its been mentioned many a time. The issue with that is what do you set the caps to? Man people are 400+ Anything that give them new gear makes something more unreachable than 2 vet ranks. There is also a cap that is not feasible. Whereas 2 vet ranks are easy to get (yes they are, top whining I have 3, almost 4 v14s).

Additionally, 2 vet ranks gives access to 2 more attribute point for preferential stat placement. Its not a ton, but it is some. For a primarily casual playerbase, as many mmorpgs have, static levels related to gear is much easier to deal with. The only way more vet ranks could rally cause harm is a new tier of enchants. Stats that would make someone still v10 much weaker.

The way enchants are right now is ally good. New vet ranks after 10 are a minor difference outside of being unable to use v12 sets and 10/11 and some set scaling.
