ESO Content Releases & Participation

"Everything is coming, can't wait for something to actually arrive. " - That's how I feel when I read about content and changes mentioned by ZOS that benefit the players' entertainment.

Within 1 year of DCUO (DC Universe Online) being out back in 2011 there were raids added along with a new tier of difficulty and a DLC. To this date they sit @ 12 dlcs, numerous updates that ADD content for free to play and new powers as well. See below..

When DCUO launched:
  • Fire
  • Gadgets
  • Ice
  • Mental
  • Nature
  • Sorcery
Added to this date:
  • Celestial
  • Earth
  • Electricity
  • Light
  • Munitions
  • Quantum
  • Rage

I have been playing ESO since last year and it has been my new home since I migrated from DCUO because I have been waiting for ESO to happen for a long time. But it would be nice for the above mentioned content flow to eventually happen to ESO.

Suggestions for ZOS (Please note some of these things I mention below may not appeal to players for financial reasons, this I know.)

Money Makers (ZOS turns a profit, we profit from fun):

Adding new powers along with a power respec token of some sorts and adding a dollar amount to it in the crown store. I know that worked wonders for DCUO devs in terms of making money. Most players would buy a Power Respec Token when a new power was released to try it. It kept the game fresh and the income rolling in. B)

Style and how you look in game are important to some if not many. Throw away the whole "you are what you wear" setup we have in ESO.

Instead make it so whichever styles we learn via motifs can be selected via your character's UI to mix and match how you like regardless of what you are wearing for combat. For example, in the inventory tab to the left is an icon of a person surrounded by your gear in boxes. Make it so that each boxes' drop down menu aside from "Repair", "Destroy" etc... has Change Style to...kind of like how we do for converting to Imperial Style. The mechanic is there, so add variation.

How do you make money from it?
Easy, instead of adding retextures of styles that exist in the game already to the crown store or in some cases costumes that look the same as they are in the game (eww, very lazy)...make NEW ones. Add a dollar amount and there you go. Money made. I'm sure players will buy them to add them to the "collectibles" to be able to select them in-game and mix them up with styles they are wearing.

I don't even have to explain to players how that would be cool. We'd be unique mixing and matching styles instead of how it is now....we just dye our armor to "try" to look different from the next person.

ZOS Participation, in-game and out:

In regards to ZOS participation OUTSIDE the game I won't say anything new that hasn't been mentioned already by the members of this forum. So I won't beat that one dead anymore than it is.

ZOS in-game participation:

Everyone who played DCUO long enough remembers how cool and fun it was to be in the Hall Of Doom or Watch Tower and the devs randomly start spawning bosses and mobs. LOL, trust me it was fun and playful of the devs to do that. It made us feel like we were all friends (players and devs).

I'm not sure how you (ZOS) have your backend setup but things like that are fun for us and for you. In turn, making us all have fun together instead of what it is now, we complain about things that do not work and or things we want (dlcs, content in general) and you getting stressed. Have fun with your ability to change things in the game. let me paint a picture...

Imagine being in Rawl'kha or Elden Root (I'm AD so those are our hangouts) and a random Titan spawns or a Mantikora. Now for the cost of nothing, nor DEV paying for producing a DLC or the player paying for it, everyone in that location is freaking out and having fun with "lols" everywhere whilst fighting this random creature in town.

PVP with us:

Players, imagine being in Cyro and reading in Zone Chat (sorry console players) "ZOS has invaded Cyro" in some cool colored text. Now players are having fun versus the devs in PVP, in-game. They did something similar in DCUO but without an anouncement due to how many ppl played DCUO the word spread fast and soon players were hunting devs!!! (Devs typically one shotted us lol) :p

Thats a community, devs and players having fun in the game they love. Not the division we have now.

So, thank you for reading. I wrote this with love for the game and no animosity. Consider it :)
