[suggestion] Oblivion Unicorn

Would Love to see a Limited Time Mount such as the Unicorn From The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.
I say make it a limited offer as unicorns in the elder scrolls are a very rare creature, it would be unfitting to have them available for purchase often or indefinitely.

I just like the meta-game idea of people questioning their existence and maybe THINKING they saw one but wasn't sure. I think 100,000 Crowns is high enough that there probably isn't anyone that would be willing to shell out the money for it, but low enough that someone with a bunch of burnable cash might buy it for kicks and grins.

The concept is sincere... the price is not. ZOS could, instead, have the unicorn released for like 5K crowns (so it's still expensive but not SO expensive that it's (unreasonable) price gouging, but release it for like 60 seconds at a time... randomly at very rare intervals.

Of course, ZOS appears to need to "update" the crown store with a patch so they would need to figure out a more active means to toggle crown store items on and off.

I agree with you @Gidorick Though 60 seconds is a bit drastic. I was thinking more along the lines of 24 hours one day a year.
Also i believe it should have its own upgraded look competely seperate from the traditional horse tack (saddlebags armor ect) The upgrade should have a more organic look to keep the unicorns "untamed" appearance. (also to help justify paying 5000 crowns!) You could not have a saddle on the oblivion unicorn after all.

They could have an ingame announcement pop up saying "A Mystical Creature Has Been Spotted!" and have the 24 hour count down appear on in the upper corner of your screen. (they could market it on the site as well if they wanted to boost sales but i dont think it neccesary)
It would entice people to stay on and play for the rare chance they might "see the unicorn"

24 hours... perhaps once a year. Unannounced and un-advertised would be awesome!

I agree with the organic look of the Unicorn. I would even be on board with it just never having upgrades and no saddle. Unless, that is, they introduce equippable armor for mounts that we can buy/craft... then players should have the option to outfit their unicorn as they desire.

But as the system stands now, I would be comfortable with the unicorn not having saddle/saddlebags/horse wrap or anything.

I know ZoS needs to monetize everything they can, to support the game, but I'd like to see this one out of the crown store.
What if you made it like the Emperor buffs, aka, there can only be one owner of the unicorn at a time. You get a message or talk to an NPC, 'ooh unicorns been spotted by fort whatever'. You run there as do other players. You find it grazing in a glen somewhere, fight off other hopeful players, tame it (with your crown sold or player made tame?) and then you are the only person with a unicorn in the campaign. It supercedes your chosen mount skin and riding skills while you're on it to give you slightly better than best stats (65/65/65 or something) but If you get dismounted someone else can run up and take it or it runs away and when you get off it just hangs where you left it but any other player can run up and take it (Also resets back to its spawning location after set time).

This doesn't even particularly have to be PVP, but I like the idea of keeping it in Cyrodiil as it was in Oblivion.

As a lasting remembrance for briefly having the unicorn, you could be rewarded with a nifty title, achievement, and dye. Not to mention the bragging rights of getting to have actually seen and tamed and rode a super elusive creature.

The only thing is @Anemonean, there may just be more than 1 unicorn during this period in Tamriel. During Oblivion, there was only 1 left. Perhaps during the Faction War there are more!

And... I love your idea about earning the Unicorn but unfortunately the possibility of hoping for these kinds of immersive additions really went out the door when ZOS dropped the sub and added a Crown Store.

It would be nice if certain mounts were available as in-game achievements or drops, but i wanted to be realistic. This game needs our purchases to continue to thrive, so I suggested they put it on the crown store. I am not afraid of paying money to get the things I desire, I never expect anything for free in this world haha.
Now If only the Devs And Mods would look at this forums suggestions, maybe I could start giving them money, but it seems like they do not want our money.
