Redguard Templar? Tactics and builds?

oneshot_onekill
Hi, when I started eso I carefully looked up which alliance I wanted to join. After doing some research and taking a quiz I ended up with the daggerfall covenant. Out of the classes I could choose from (orc, breton, or redguard) I chose redguard, because I like using bows and I definitely know I want to use a shield and sword. I'm worried though that I maybe should have picked breton because of all the Magicka the templar class uses? Can someone help me and tell me if I chose the wrong race for my play style or if i didn't, and can you also tell me some builds I could use that would take advantage of the strengths of the templar /redguard play style if I like these tactics:

I like using bow, shield and sword, damage over time, area of effect, definitely kiting and snaring, and I really like to heal to

It depends what you have on your bar. When I was thinking about what I wanted to play as I made the mistake of thinking like a traditional elder scrolls game where the only magic would be the two staffs. I was not thinking that most class abilities use magic as well.

If you have a bunch of Templar abilities on both of your bars and your not that high of a level you could always change. But if your using a bunch for Bows and Shield and Sword than a Redquard would be your best choice.

Also I would not restrict yourself just to one faction. I am pretty sure yours is the worst for pvp because less people play as all of those races. I also saw that from the ign reviewer that their storyline according to him is the worst.

Also one thing to add is that right now my bars and mostly magic and I am an imperial, wish I was a dark elf but I am not starting over again and can change my abilities to something else if need be and if a make a second character he would probably be a dark elf.

Honestly, with as much as people make a big deal over race, its not that important. Sure a Breton has an advantage but its maybe a percentage point or so in the overall scheme of things. What matters way more is skill and understanding of game mechanics.

Meaning a Redgard Magicka Templar in the hand of a skilled player is way better than a Breton Templar in the hands of a scrub. Point is, play what you think is fun and only worry about the 1% difference when you have fully realized your skill and understanding.
I'm kind of a small deal!

Well I don't want to put just one set of skills on my bar, I would always have some stamina skills and some Magicka skills.
So I guess my choice is pretty good. And why do you think templar is bad for pvp?

Yea I seen a lot of people say this, my builds are going to use stamina and magicka based attacks, I want to make a hybrid so it can't be that bad

Sorry to revive this thread but I can not private message you. I did not mean Templars I meant DC in general. Yes I use both magic and stamina as well. What I was saying if most of your abilities were from the three Templar trees then yes you should switch. If you are using more weapon and stamina abilities then I would say you picked the right option.

I am using a balance, but I think I picked right because regardless of the ratio of magicka use to stamina use I feel like I will always be using stamina to some extent. Even if I decide to go mostly magicka, I could still benefit from the red guard passive because I like rolling a lot. Also good for when I need to break free from a cc.

But that's only if I go mostly magicka, right now I am using a Bow with three magicka and three stamina abilities.(my ultimate is a magicka, Idk if it uses magicka or if it is based off of which is higher), and I have a one hand/shield with three magicka, 2 stamina abilities and a magicka ultimate.

I pretty much will always use my Templar as a hybrid, and I can never see myself not having at least one of my weapon presets a stamina based one
