but surely theres a limit to stats, where adding points and what not becomes irrelevant?

Nope, and hopefully it will stay that way. If softcaps existed, what would be the point of grinding CP?

There's not. I don't see why there should be. Focusing on one thing brings major weaknesses in other areas. That's the way it should be, in my opinion.

Because it still makes you stronger, it just adds reasonable limits to prevent one shot kills, or unkillable characters especially in PvP.

For PvE softcaps helps prevent content from becoming a complete joke to complete, especially in this game where there are so very many damage/mitigation modifiers that it seems the developers are having a hard time coming up with the "max stats possible" characters and working backwards for balancing.

The PvP comment doesn't make sense. If people are hitting harder and becoming harder to hit, then doesn't that problem solve itself?

The PvE problem can simply be "resolved" by adding harder content.

Soft caps complicate game mechanics and force players to play a certain way. If I wanna be a super squishy glass cannon, I should be allowed that privilege and all consequences as a result, not discouraged from it.

Lack of soft caps does exactly the same thing. it eliminates all balanced type of builds from the game. You either go for that *** WB or snipe that can kill everything or you go for the tank that can take those blows and immediately heal himself.

For pve it does almost the same. For example at the moment almost all Magicka DPS consist of 5MK,2Adroit,2Light OF cyro,2Torugs. with maybe some variation involving the Sun set and Skoria. In the end are the same idea. Stack the same crap with variation coming into play only based on what you ca afford. Stamina is no different.

I agree though it is not complicated at all. It is mind numbingly idiotic.
