all in all its not a bad game (otherwise I wouldn't have put a couple 1000 hours into the game since prerelease xd)
but theres some pain points that really hurt the game like:
    - countinued miserable state of pvp on pc (lagg, fall damage bug, nirnhoned,....) wich makes it reeeeeeal hard to enjoy at times
    - lack of new content (real playable stuff) for a loooong time now, long time players are really starving for half a year or so

Yeah, it is a solid game but nothing spectacular.
Have somewhere in excess of 2500 hours clocked.
Would personally give it probably a 7. 8.5 if PvP weren't left in such rough shape for so long.
Gotten more or less what was expected from the game, but it has not done anything to really blow me away.

Everything is subjective. I've played since beta and honestly I was a little unhappy in the beginning due to build and class imbalance. So I took a break. Now I'm back and having a great time. I would honestly rate ESO in its current state an 8.5/10. Like I said, subjective. I couldn't even rate the next best mmo I've played more than a 6.5, and sadly, I've played them all. This was the "different" type of mmo I was looking for. I thought I wasn't alone but eh, not so sure.

So you've put in OVER 104 days of in-game time in about a year?

Have been on disability for several years now. Average probably 4 hours of sleep each night because of my health. Have nothing in my life but time.
Game when my girlfriend is not home; if we do not decide to do something else when she is, then we game together.

If you want the number to look really scary, consider it in the context that the past year has also included me playing Oblivion, Skyrim, Daggerfall and GTA 5 outside of ESO.

Well deserved scores and about time the game gets credit for what it does well.

What, actually, does it do well?

    It looks pretty.
    Gameplay is quite dynamic.

    That's about it.

In every other area it is so far behind the curve of what is expected of a AAA MMORPG that is is, frankly, laughable.

Ok, so this is an extract of my 1 Star review of ESO on Amazon.
The prime cause of most, if not all, of these problems is Zenimax's insistence on "being different". Being different is fine, as long as what you are doing works at least as well as that which you are trying to be different from. Zenimax manage to fail at this with such alarming regularity that the Gaming Industry should have a new term "Zenimaxed" - when a company tries to be so different that they manage to break what should be unbreakable. It would be like a new car manufacturer starting from scratch and launching its headline product with square wheels. Sure, its different, it just doesn't work. Zenimax have failed to learn from a decade of mistakes by other MMO companies, and are now making errors that really should have been long gone from the genre 5+ years ago. It is painfully laughable at times.

And it sums up why I am no longer playing this game.

If Zeni give clear evidence that they are actually learning from past mistakes, both by themselves and from the wider industry, I may be able to be convinced that the game is worth a 2nd chance.

    All The Best

LOL so you put 100 days /played time into a game and then give it 1 star? How is that possible?

This is why user reviews are MEANINGLESS. You get people like this that have an axe to grind.

Wary of user reviews from metacritic. You see a few very highly rated games get average to low scores from players. Average score reviewed games get high scores. Did chuckle after opening the pc link to see one user score at the bottom of the page sitting at 0.
"critic" reviewers are damned if they do & damned if they don't. Give a game a good score "They're being paid by the game company". Give a popular game a average to bad review & even more childish abuse flows.

This is because of two things in my opinion. One, critics are by their very nature contrarians: why else would you want to waste your life criticizing anything? Not just game critics, but movie critics, music critics ... etc. Critics look for things in games that normal people don't. They look for originality and quirkiness. They assume other gamers play as many games as they do. Two, the general buying public just wants something they can enjoy, not something filled with twists, off the wall content, inside jokes, bizarre challenges and whimsical quirkiness. User reviews are a much more accurate indicator of whether or not I will enjoy something than what the critics say. Why would anyone value a critic's opinion more than anyone else's is beyond me. Personally I learned a long time ago to give absolutely zero credence to the opinions of professional critics.

angry joe made that video when eso was lunched for pc..by that time game had really big problems he was not lying the game was actually bad..although most of them solved and game is much better now..but angry joe never makes second review for no games.
that being said..games and movies are highly subjective..best way to know to watch game play videos and try the game out with free trials and stuff like that..reviews were not important to me for any games..i usually try them out myself.

Have you ever noticed that if the reviews agree with your view point, they are spot on, if they don't agree, they are biased?

Bottom line, do you like the game you are playing? Then keep playing it. If you don't like the game you are playing, then stop playing it. It does not matter what someone else thinks.

I agree. Reviews are a personal opinion. The old days of a magazine reviewer having a sacred opinion and seer like knowledge of a game are over. YouTube, red dit, metacritic even game stops website allow for users to give feedback. If you like a game, I'm happy for you.

I happen to love this game. The mains story is fun. The PvP when it works is really engaging. I'm addicted!

The only problem with review sites like these is the majority of reviews are paid to make the reviews.

Excellent online gameplay and fluid combat. The graphics are what you can really expect from a 2014 MMO and the PVP full of intensity. Love it! While it had a rocky launch it has improved so much and is definitely one of the best MMOs currently out there.

He Commented on 4 ESO online games PC, PS4 and XBOX. Does he have all 3 systems! But I said 4 didn't I, there is another review from PC which is has 2300 reviews with a score of 5.7 so if you were to take off all the made up 10's (honestly why would you ever give a 10, no game is perfect!) it's probably getting a score below 5 from PC!

why on earth are so many people on a forum for a game they apparently hate, or at least criticize heavily.
sure seems like a lot of you have put in 100's of hours. I have no idea why you are trying to paint a negative picture of a game you apparently like; your continued concern about the game shows that you want to keep playing it, meaning you want it to improve. The more support the game has monetarily, the more resources they will have to fix it. and the more that the owners of the property will have at stake as far as pleasing customers.

I was surprised at the PC score but still glad it was so high. I don't think many players who enjoy the game actually go and post reviews like that. Usually, it's the negative ones who have quit that post all the rage.

Actually, you're nowhere close. There are paid services in which companies can purchase a specific amount of anonymous reviewers, which would explain why there are so many '10' ratings with no comments in the past week.

Every mmo forum looks like this. The people who enjoy the game are usually too busy playing. The ol I'm here cuz I love this and want it to succeed but they're ruining it crowd is also a common theme on all forums. It's also a load and shoddy defensive response to the valid, "why are you still here complaining, " inquiry.

Belive me mate its true for each and every MMO and perhaps not only MMO. The moment forums are not filled with complains - game is dead. As long as there are people who are not ignoring flawed parts of the game and are voicing it - there is hope.
