Sky Shard locations on map

Hey all,

I noticed (in some YouTube videos) that PC users get all sorts of locations indicated on their maps, including skyshards! Why don't we get it in our Consolle version? Do I need to wait until I get to a certain level? Is this a cheat that works only on PC?

    This is a website that has maps for all of Tamriels skyshards.

    It also has alot of other useful info.

    Go here and print out the maps

    http://www.esohead.com/skyshards

    Then make a notebook and organize the information. It is what we used to do when playing RPGs. I still have Grid Paper nightmares from making maps as I went through a dungeon. You know, 10 miles each way, uphill, through the snow...

    Anyway, I found all my skyshards on my first character on the PC by using printed maps.

    We use addons such as Skyshards, Lorebooks, Destinations.
    They are not cheats, they are ZOS approved. There are many others we use to improve the quality of life in the game as well such as ones for more detailed Guild store searches, damage numbers and buff/debuff tracking, Inventory filters etc.

    Feel for you guys that don't have the options...but you have your "immersion"

    Yeah, I know how all this works. I just wondered if it was possible to have it this way on consolle. It's just a lot easier...

    If you aren't on a race to VR14, I'd recommend the following:

    - Do all quests in each zone before progressing. Most outside-world skyshards can be found just roaming the map to complete quests;
    - Do all delves and the public dungeon in each zone, as each is guaranteed to have a skyshard. If you don't find it on your first pass, go back because it's there;
    - If you haven't found all skyshards after completing all quests in a zone, open your Achievements menu and look for the skyshards tab. For each zone, all skyshards are listed with clues as to where they can be found;
    - If you still can't figure out where a skyshard is, go to one of the websites listed. This should happen rarely, and probably for no more than 1 or 2 skyshards in a particularly difficult zone.

    You will have loads more fun this way. You will notice random encounters with friendly and unfriendly NPCs as you wander through the wilderness. You will get more XP by clearing mob groups to get to the skyshard you see shining over the hill in front of you. You will find many lore books glowing on the ground. You will have stuff to do in ESO for more than 2 weeks.

    lol

    I did not use any addons for the first 4 to 6 months of the playing the game for no other reason than I did not feel the game needed any. Plus, I prefer a minimal UI over a cluttered one. I use a few now mostly in the interest of saving time but I still have a fairly uncluttered screen. In fact, the Mini Map is about the only thing that is on my screen besides a frame over the enemy telling me how much health they have. From that I can figure out my rough DPS so no need for flying numbers.

    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    I remember doing this on Phantasy Star on sega master system. I lost a save file cause I lost in a dugeon and my party to beat up eventually and I could not get out.

    Now in ESO people cry cause they don't have a mini map for the overworld. : P

    best is to just have an ipad with you while playing ESO on the PS4. There are websites out there that have all the skyshards.

    Addons to show skyshards, lorebooks and such are for milk-drinkers!!! ;)

    Personally I had lots of fun figuring out where the skyshards might be from following the hints in the journal. Though I have to admit I did visit those mentioned guides for one or two I just couldn't find myself...

    But hey, each as they please I guess.

    It should be made clear that not everyone uses such addons (or, indeed, any addons), some of us like to explore - it's a key part of the game. If you cover the whole map and follow the descriptions given in the journal you won't need any other assistance although the websites linked above can always be looked at for the odd elusive location. I get that some people can't play a game these days without having their hand held all the way, and addons are great for them, but for a lot of other people the game is a lot more fun without them especially with the surprise discoveries that come with exploration rather than following an icon on the map..

    You don't own a thread after you've created it. Plus, your question was answered in full by several people. Ungrateful much?
