I though that when i bought the imperial edition from the crown store i would get the motif for my character that is not a imperial.

Right-click the equipped item, in the drop down box you'll see an option to change said item into Imperial style.

You don't get a motif as a book. All your chars will be able to default create in the imperial style.
Also all non-unique loot and all crafted gear can be transmorf'd into imperial style, se above post

Actually...if they make an Imperial character that character can craft in their native style which is Imperial, otherwise their other characters have to right click and "Convert to Imperial Style". Converting to Imperial style doesn't work on dropped gear sets.

dammit! I found an Imperial Motif and since it didn't say its in my library I thought I had to use it for my main char (High Elf) to craft that style and the imperial edition only gave me access to an imperial character that could craft in their own style. So I could have sold that motif for a fortune and still been able to craft in imperial style regardless of my character, great.

No, that's not true. The Imperial Edition allows you to play as an Imperial, which can craft in that style. Any other characters you create can only convert gear to the Imperial style (though not all gear converts).

So, your High Elf would not have been able to craft in the Imperial style, but only convert gear to that style. Now that she's read the Imperial motif book you found, she can craft in the Imperial style. She wasn't able to do so before.

True. I was unclear with the "craft" terms. Once converted, is that gear then bound to my account or my character?

Either way, if I had a way to sell it easy for 80k I would have done that instead of using it for the achievement. Next time I guess. haha

So if I buy the imperial edition upgrade on the crown store I can convert to imperial style on my other toons? How does that work?
  • EddieHavok
I think its as easy as going to the piece that you have on, or in your inventory, then 'options', and select 'convert to Imperial', but it will bind the piece to you.

Yes, once converted to Imperial, items are bound to your account. If your Imperial character crafts in the Imperial style, those items are only bound if you equip them, as with other gear.

So yeah bought imperial edition, made a sweet ass imperial DK then went to convert my gear on my main and the only thing that would convert was the belt. What's up with that?

Diid you make the other pieces imperial to begin with?...
  • EddieHavok
I've read that certain "reward" pieces wont convert. Maybe that's it, or maybe the gear you have is already Imperial? Too many variables to identify.

Dropped "Named" or "Set" pieces can't be converted, along with armor from quest rewards. Armor that is simply found and labeled, for example, "Ironhide Jack of Stamina" can be converted to Imperial. As someone else previously mentioned, crafted pieces in, say, Breton, can then be converted to Imperial.
