Why no attack speed with weapons?

It'd seem like weapons in an MMORPG should have an attack speed or delay speed on them, I just noticed that they don't. Is that how other Elder Scrolls are? I don't remember... I'd guess so since it's not in this one.

You can put a trait on a weapon (Weighted) that increases the attack speed.

is that a enchant? I just remember seeing others that told you the attack speed, so certain two handed weapons dealt more damage that a shield and sword, but were slower to swing, etc... Created more of a reason to choose one or the other.

This is a PC article, but it's the same concept, except for add ons. Not sure if it answers your question in anyway, but maybe.

@Fartman Weighted is a weapon trait that requires a Citrine gem. It increases weapon attack speed by 4% but this number goes up as the quality of your weapon goes up. A weapon trait is separate from an enchantment. You can have BOTH a weapon trait and an enchantment on any weapon.

All one-handed weapons have the same attack speed and do the same amount of damage (assuming they are of the same level/quality). Same goes for the two-handed weapons. As you might have guessed, two-handed weapons swing slower but deal more damage.

And no, the attack/delay speed of weapons is not shown in ESO, unlike many other MMOs.
