Indeed ruins the game. A trip to (PC) Cyrodiil, will make you just leave the game. Too many macro users, and while I can do it (dead easy to assign a keyboard macro) I do not see the point. I have no inferiority problems with my real life to be honest.
Let them ruin the game. In the mean time went back to DAOC, and having fun PVPing there, where it requires proper skill and not cheating.
Macros are not the same thing as animation cancelling! A macro is a small program that does the work for you. It is cheating and is against the terms and conditions of the game. Animation canceling is simply manually timing your attacks to bypass the graphical bells and whistles that are placed over the underlying combat mechanics. Animation canceling is like knowing when to throw a fastball and when to throw a change up and getting the speed and timing right. Macros are like bringing a pitching machine out to the mound.

I can "WEAVE" an attack on a macro key on keyboard. Don't be naive. There are even videos how to do so.
