Would you want a Global Trade Center?

Hello Everyone,

I am quite new to this game as I am only level 40 with my very first character and therefore have limited time with this online. I am a former player of Skyrim and therefore know about the game in some way. I am playing on Xbox EU for anyone asking.

Even though I have very limited time with the game, I have been a part of a few major guilds with 400+ members, and to say the least my experiences have been... Non enjoying.I know the game is rather new to consoles and there is no stable market yet, but people just seems unreasonable pricing their useless stuff in the guild stores. I have been checking everyday for a week now, and I only rarely find anything good a reasonable price to buy. It should be said that I am mainly using the Guild Stores for blacksmithing stuff which I am level 41 now.

My struggle

As I am playing on a console I do not have access to add-ons or any software that can help me scan through prices on a various of guild stores or generate average prices, and therefore it is annoying that I can only access 5 guilds. 5 Guilds just don't cut it with the stupidity that lives among these guilds. I understand that players would want to make a penny but for everyone who is experiencing the same as me, this must come to an end.

I have no idea how this guild store system works on PC but consoles do not have add-ons or any chat system to help us selling stuff in social places, and therefore we are in need of something smarter.

My suggestion

I would suggest a Global Trade Center located in each of the capitals of the alliances. Here it would be possible to buy and sell items across all alliances at a slightly larger fee than if you were to use the Guild Store. The Global Trade Centers should be assigned to each server as well as player system. So for me I would only have access to the Xbox One EU Global Trade Center, this should be to make it equal for everyone within the same system.

The Guild Stores should still be in the game and would now function as "inside trading" like if you would be sure to help your clan mates out or just wanted to keep your buying/selling habits local.

This system would prevent people at ruining the stores with items listed at 350k or ridiculous prices. Let the market be controlled by real demand and supply. Nothing really to be lost here. Its a supplement to what is already there and would just work as a Global Guild Store to be fair, so I don't see much development going into this system.

Let me hear your thoughts, especially for you PC gamers as you might have a different perspective than me. Also let me hear from every console gamers if this is something you would like or not.

Good evening

Yes. This has been brought up a million times on this forum. It's not going to happen, but it would be nice.

The lack of a trade section on the official forum, and lack of auction house, are the main reasons that we have to create third party sites, like ESO Trade.
Can't find the items you are looking for? Need a place to trade? We welcome ESO players of all platforms at ESO Trade, the home for trading of goods and services in the lands of Tamriel.

I am new to this game and have been thinking a lot about the subject. Not to justify myself but I think it is easily understandable and I describe the perks of a system like this. Seeing many threads are just a big bunch of words without structure I tried to do something else.

Is ESO Trade a reliable site with a lot of activity? If so I might jump on that train.

No I would not like a Global Trade Center.
Even though the suggestion is a modified seems nice, I am still against it on the grounds that it doesn't solve the issues I have with MMO global economies. As it stands the current system seems like a better alternative to me than a mere modified AH.

I created ESO Trade. Reliable? Yes. A lot of activity? Not at this point. I recently added console sections to help those players out because Zenimax, in their infinite wisdom, didn't even give console players zone chat to conduct trades.

It has more traffic now than it used to, but not where I would like it to be just yet. All I can do is keep spreading the word about it and maybe that will change. Regardless of the amount of traffic ESO Trade generates, I'm going to keep it open.

By reliable I did not question your sites trustworthiness. I will try my luck on the site, thanks!

A fair point. But for me it is too hard to sell and buy items for a reasonable price because of no mechanic other than screaming into your mic in group zones.

No, but Guild Stores need an update on consoles.
As already mentioned... brought up a thousand times... a thousand polls... and ZoS has repeatedly said they won't change it. Player opinion has been broadly 50/50...

BUT... with consoles you may have a point, It's only the addons that make the PC version ok to use from a trading / guild store perspective. To make consoles work a bit better they need to include some of the functionality of MasterMerchant / Awesome Guild Store into the UI as standard.
    GM of the Unholy Legacy
    EU/EP
Sorcerer Flaminir (Magicka) / Staminir (Stamina)
Templar Elixiia (Magicka/Healer) / Lotti Velooni (Magicka)
DragonKnight Xalora Flaminar (Tank) / Unholy-Dragon-Toad (Tank)
Nightblade Aimee Owlious (Magicka) / Myttens (Stamina)
    Warden: Frosti-Tute (Magicka/Healer) Boops-Many-Snoots (Stamina/Tank)

That is exactly what I mean. I did not ask for a fix on consoles because I thought this would be easier. If they would fix trading for consoles I would have no problem with it at all.

Heheh. I know OP isn't asking for an AH. I just couldn't resist.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.
