I had an idea regarding our beloved werewolves and vampires. There simply isn't enough drama between vamps, werewolves and normal humans. To address this, consider the following world event idea:
During the in-game night time (or maybe in-game full moons) players participating in the world event could toggle the werewolf on permanently. Despite the benefits, there will be the detriments of course, giving werewolves the need to group up. They will be attacked by certain NPCS, and more importantly, having werewolf hunters (other players) tracking them down.
From there, throw vampires into the mix and behold - a great recipe for some intense 3-way open world pvpvp. These event will include quests and challenges for each temporary faction with rewards and achievements.
One key thing mentioned above: "temporary factions". Such an event will pit friends against friends, guilds against guilds and even families against families (in a fun way of course)! BUT, it will forge new alliances, new friendships and take community cooperation to the next level.
I can already think of some cool rewards and achievements that will allow players to further their skills and prestige, as well as develop the role-playing of their characters.
Although it would be a world event, it could be contained to specific regions... Just off the top of my head there's a few hundred other details that would need to be worked out of course.
Thoughts?
By no means is the idea perfect- it is just some food for thought. There should be some more fun drama around these factions.
