[Poll] Your Ending Choice & Why [BIG SPOILERS]

The question is simple; who did you sacrifice at the end of the main questline and why? I pretty much like all of these characters, most of them Abnur Tharn, really love that guy.
Lyris tries really hard to convince you to choose her, but doing so makes Varen say to you that it was supposed to be him, that he has no place in time now. Sai Sahan also wants to be sacrifised to make it up for his failures in restoring the old ways of Redguard. I'm glad Abnur isn't a choice, I'm afraid many people would simply choose him as they might see him the most evil of them all, which I doubt he is.

So, who did you choose?

I'd vote: "I have not reached the end yet, I just wanted to read this anyway as I don't care about the main story."

I always choose Varen, it's his fault we're in this bloody mess to begin with.

The real question is did you release Mannimarco and / or any other 'evil' character tied up in the torture area .

Varen. It was his fault to begin with, and he is really old. He already stated he had no more powers of prophecy, so it seems like he's useless. Plus, he's willing to give up his life, so I didn't have an issue sacrificing him.

The_Sadist, that's a good question to start a poll. It depends on my character actually. At my first playthrough I did free every NPC in that chamber just to see what might happen and as I'm playing an evil, power-lusting character now (Imperial DK), I would free them again just to let them die once more by my blade

As for Mannimarco, hell I'd free him again if I could ally with him, lol. Too bad I can't.

I choose to sacrifice Varen... but each play through makes me wish I could sacrifice Abnur more. I am sure eventually that impulse will get the better of me.

I understand that many people dislike Abnur, but I gotta admit that he is far more enjoyable and funnier character than Lyris or Sai. I remember that I had a laugh when Abnur told Lyris: "I wonder that your lack of education and repeatable blows to the head haven't dulled your wit, Titanborn" - or something in this sense.

If it makes no difference, then I always choose Varen. But if you'd rather have Sai's or Lyris's weapon, then choose them.

I've played through multiple times, and I've gone with every option, but my first was Varen.
He seemed to be the most fitting sacrifice, even to himself.

But now that I have all the associated weaponry, I do wish I could choose Abnur for his sick staff.

It just makes perfect sense to choose Varen, as he's basically the source and reason why is all of this happening no matter how sorry he is. As I stated above, he says that he does not belong in this world anymore. Sai goes to resurrect the martial art he always wanted and Lyris goes with him. Abnur flees to Imperial City where he belongs.

...and you... you start to grind veteran zones... oh boy

I picked Sai because I just found his arguments for him being the best choice to be compelling. I felt like he really didn't want to go on living, but at the same time he really wanted his death to have meaning.

Though seriously, I strongly considered him as a second, but ultimately I selected who held the most blame.

I'd agree that he deserved it more, if you're looking at the sacrifice as a punishment for what he did. But Sai deserved it more if you're looking at the sacrifice as a way for his life to have had real meaning.

I chose Sai just cause I couldn't stand listening to him talk. Lyris was a close 2nd, though cause she always stands on the corpses I'm trying to loot thus bringing up the chat window over and over and over. She owes me a drink, though...gotta keep her alive at least long enough to cash in on that.
