Main story glitch?

ok so im level 40 and i finished the level 40 main story and then i got the level 45 main story but I am still level 40 so i kinda want to know if i broke the game lol, but seriously is there any solution or explanation

I think they changed it where you can get the level 45 quest after finishing the level 40 quest. I don't think you can do the level 50 (final) mission till you finish the main objectives in Coldharbour.

That is correct. While it is still recommended to do the Level 45 at Level 45, it is possible to do it at any time from Level 40 onwards. Similarly, the final main quest, with Recommended Level 50, is actually available from Level 45 if you've done all the required quests.
