Ghost Ranged Attack Messes up my Controls

You know that ranged attack where the ghost throws another ghost at you? I got hit by it and for some reason I lost control of my character. He started walking away from the ghost automatically, the camera switched to first person, he crouched in a corner, and remained still until he was mauled to death. Can someone explain to me why the -BLEEP- that happened?


Xbox One version, European Megaserver. This happened in the Hall of the Dead in Windhelm.

    It's a fear attack. That is what will happen. Use whatever you console players use to break free to get back to normal.

    Yeah, I was out of stamina so I couldn't. I got the skyshard anyways, so I'll just forget about that horrible experience (was about 6 levels below the enemies in there. It was like repeatedly headbutting a brick wall).

    You can also bash the enemy to stop them from using it, but that also costs stamina.
