Bastion and Absorb Magic

The champion tree "The Lord" has Bastion, which increases the effectiveness of damage absorbing effects. Could this be coupled with Absorb Magic, from the 1h+Shield skills for a potential bigger heal? I am thinking about going 1h+shield on my NB specifically for this.

Ranique✭✭✭✭Bastion increases the damage absorbing part of absorb magic. As this is 100% anyways (it absorbs a full projectile), it stays 100%. the heal is an additional effect unaffected by Bastion.Through me you pass into the city of woe:
