Console Controller - LB+RB Ultimate

Does anyone ever have issues with the LB+RB combination for using an ultimate? I find this prevents me from mapping passives (e.g., inner light) to these buttons, as I keep triggering them off. Perhaps a future update the devs can look into having alternate key setups.

I think Neverwinter did a good job with their controller setup using LB as a "shift" key that isn't mapped to any abilities, but then allows you to have the alternate mappings for A/B/X/Y.

Thoughts?

No issues with hitting any buttons on Xbox one.
Maybe try a diff controller design...some of us are made diff or perhaps have other situations at play

*If you're holding the controller correctly, you should have no issues simultaneously using, pressing and not pressing LB, RB, LT, RT by using two fingers for all 4 button presses in any sequences

@NewBlacksmurf I think the issue is that the ability assigned to LB is firing off when trying to use the Ultimate with LB+RB. I don't have ESO on console, so I don't know whether things happen on "button press" or "button release" or what happens if you hold LB then hold RB, then release LB, then release RB, or release RB before LB, or ... (multiple other ways to do "LB+RB") ...

Yeah, I agree. I have my DK wings on RB and Igneous shield LB. Whenever I go to activate my dragon leap I end up flapping my wings first usually it seems. I also have an issue with break free (R2+L2). Seems I have to spam it for it to take effect.

I use LB and RB for heals. Yeah I wouldn't put toggles there. Sometimes the ultimate doesn't go.


I also have removed my AOE instant spell from (B) since it is used to back out of menus.. and a few incidents in town shopping areas and while exiting out of stealing quickly...

Haven't had too much trouble with synergies. Though the new shorter range is harder to use on Xbox. I use my RT trigger finger and press both buttons with the side of my finger instead of taking my hand off controller and using 2 fingers. I've had a few games with (Y) + (B) over the years and eventually got that down as a habit.

I'm looking forward to the new Xbox controllers may get some good mileage out of the 4 bottom paddle buttons. Will probably put synergy and CC break down there for sure.

I thought I would have issues with this when I saw the layout (PS4) but I actually find it works pretty well. Although I also put my heal and a shield on those buttons, so maybe it's just less noticeable for me when I off hit them.

I see...but I don't understand these issues if someone is use to using the controller. If they are new to Xbox one....OK. Otherwise, no one should expect to hold or be pressing other triggers and buttons and also throw an ultimate.

Let go of all...and BAM!
If anyone is trying to use two fingers instead of one for two buttons, you're using the controller wrong and holding it incorrectly which can also cause other comfort or strain to your hand n fingers.

I can't imagine how I would use one hand to hit those buttons together... (PS4)

I'm glad you aren't having similar issues NewBlacksmurf. However, if someone's "doing it wrong" and not hitting them at the exact same time, they should give you some kind of feedback (like not firing off the ultimate).

As it sits, I press LB+RB, my ultimate goes off, and for some reason inner light is no longer active when I check after the fight. This doesn't happen every time, but enough to make it annoying and require me to move it to a different button.
