No. You can level too quickly now. Just reroll.
You are missing the main point - crafting research. What does it matter if you can level a new alt in relatively short time if that old one you'd have to delete to make room has six months worth of crafting research to their name?

    Now, that being said...

While I at this point wouldn't see any need for my characters to change race or class (I would see a need if they started adding new races to the crown store, or added another class...), I know there are some people who really want this option.
And I'd be inclined to agree it should be available... for a hefty crown cost, that way fulfilling their desires adds more money to the developers wear chest, financing more content for all of us all the sooner... everyone wins.
Also, if changing your race sets you back 2000 crowns, the FotM chasers will consider carefully. If changing your class costs more then that, only those really desperate will buy it. Which would either keep the changes down to a reasonable amount, or... again, finance more content for all of us that much sooner.

My vote is against the class change but REALLY in favor of race change. Class change opens up two much in terms of tech error and bugs, mechanics, etc. But I really think they need race changes, if only because of the constant tweaks but more so for player satisfaction. It really does not affect other players negatively so I don't see why people should be against it. It literally has no impact on you.

Honestly, they really need to add a character editor/barber at this point. Over a year since launch and this feature doesn't even have an estimated timeframe. That just makes no sense to me.

There's actually a very easy solution to this problem and it does not involve changing race or class, both of which should not happen. Increase the number of character slots one can purchase at the Crown Store. Allows you to keep your "Main" that is so heavily invested in research, and create an alt. Adding the ability to change race/class will become a *** show, considering the amount of bugs introduced everytime ZOS does a major overhaul to the game (and yes it would be a major overhaul considering each class has specific calculations in regards to damage, specific animations in regards to skills all hard coded to those skill line abilities). One that takes not weeks, but months upon months to finally hammer out.

Well, they have stated several times they are working on both character recustomization and race change. Though I agree, it really should be top priority... I want some option to tweak small details on my characters more then I want Orsinium... and almost as much as I want Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood.
And naturally race change would go hand in hand with character editing...

Please, oh please, let it be done SOON! I'd pay good crowns for character recustomization! All too many of mine have small details that need fixing... a hip shape adjustment here, a hand shape tweaking there, a voice change here, a body marking reselection there...

Class change... eh. Its all too true that this one might be a bit iffy in several ways, depending on the actual works of the game... I mean, they obviously could just swap everything, keep the skill advancement from the old skills and apply it to the matching new skills... add a free respec so people can re-pick their morphs... that sounds like it'd be easy enough, though of course then people would have to readvance half their skills since the morphs don't match... but that'd be their problem.

I still don't really see any need for it.
I still don't see any valid reason -against- it either.
I still think it could well be added, at a high price.

More character slots on the other hand... -gets an altaholic twitch and checks crown balance- ;)

I'm not one to support micro-dlc but I feel that either the xp rate on this game should either be raised, or they could add a class/race switch. I am a dragon knight but I want to be able to try the other classes without out grinding for like a week and a half straight. Let me know what you guys think

Nope, Race Change sure but a Class Change? No way

No. Class change is a monstrously stupid idea. It is asking for constant fotm rerolling.

Both FFXI and XIV have class changes as part of the core game and it is fantastic because of it (you literally only need one character to do everything in the game). You are also neglecting the fact that you would start at skill level 1 for all class trees and need to regrind each one to even unlock the various class skills, not to mention that each class uses different weapon skills. If someone has already invested enough time to have all of these areas maxed then why not let them reroll for their own benefit? ZOS makes more money and the player can enjoy the game. Besides, it's not like one class is strictly better than the rest so there really is no advantage to rerolling other than time saved.
