Why are map icons not displaying on my map?

Hey guys. My roommate's map icons are not displaying on his map. He tried sending in a ticket with a response of " we understand you are having login issues" which has nothing to do with his problem. I guess im just curious if anyone else is having any map icon issues and if there is a way to fix it. Also does anyone get spam responses back from support. Thats a lil silly.

It depends quite a bit on what icons specifically are not displaying. Icons for locations won't display until you have discovered them, for example. It may also be worth checking that the icons aren't toggled off in the map filter (although I'm not sure if maps on the console versions even have an icon filter).

Thanks for trying to help, but ya they are basically every type of icon and yes they have all been discovered. So it is impossible for him to fast travel anywhere unless he actually uses a wayshrine to travel directly but even that is hard to do because he has no icon on his map to point him in the right direction to find one. He has had this problem for over a week now and we tried a hard power off and reset and tried getting a hold of support, which responded with an automated reply that had nothing to do with the problem. We hoped the patch would fix it but that didnt happen either. So if anyone else are having issues with their map icons or anything similar I would love to hear about it. Hopefully there is a DEV who see's this too and can help.

Have you tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling? Also, what is he playing on?

Haven't tried that one. He is playing on xbox one. I will have him try it now and I will report back with the out come. ( Finger's Crossed) Thanks for the tip!

Sweet we figured it out! I guess there is a map icon filter that can be toggled on or off. (not sure the point of wanting no icons on your map tho) Anyway thanks to those who responded trying to help! FOR THE QUEEN!

That's for PC, we're looking for those options on console.

Go to your map than under quest journal hit rb (xbox) and go to filters
