Nope, they never did on pc either when the same thing happened.
The good news is they'll be SOL in a month or two when all the people they pissed off are giving those bites away.

Never accept a bite that isn't free and you will never get scammed. There are many players such as myself that don't charge.

Eventually as enough people who give bites for free do their good work the bite selling will die out if it behaves anything like it did on PC. Beyond that there isn't much to do to combat the scammers aside from not giving them gold, they'll find a new con and move on soon enough.

Did those stupid teen-angst movies really popularize vampirism so darn much? IMO, vampirism in this game should come with the butt-pain we saw in Oblivion and Skyrim. Then fewer would be clamoring to obtain it.

I got scammed twice for bite's then gave up. My friend logged off for a couple hours after getting scammed, logged back in and spawned at the shrine. He was standing in front of a dude and I guess the dudes friend was getting ready to bite him, instead my friend got bit. He then bit me, I bit my friend, and he bit our other friend. Me and three of my friends vowed to never sell or scam for bites. My goal is have a guild of werewolves that are legit. We're giving them free just to try and cut out these scammers and show people there are legit people/werewolves who will bite for free without the head ache & stress. I'm on the north america server, Daggerfall covenant. I already promised a guy a that was scammed my bite, but my other friend will have his bite ready in 4 days or less I believe. The scamming has gotten outta hand and I'm willing to bite any one for free every 7 days. No bs no head ache, just send me a message on xbox one. My gt xOGxMeDiCaTeDx I only have one guy who is on my list to get bit, after that it's who ever want's one. The best way to get it done fast would be a bite train of course, but thats only if someone doesnt bite the next person and ruins the line.

You know this is a ESO world scenario of those email scams from Nigeria or whatever. Don't give them (BITE SELLERS) your bank info (GOLD) until after you have the bite if you are impatient enough to actually pay for it in the first place. Otherwise, the scammed is just as responsible as the scammers for this situation.

And this is why us PC players who have been around the block have been saying that this is a self-correcting problem. The more people who get bites, the more the market slips out of the control of the scammers and gougers, and the more people get and give free bites. Eventually there will be enough people like @LordDovakhiin giving out bites for free that nobody who really wants a bite will have to pay for it, and run the risk of getting scammed.

To the people who want bites: be patient. you don't need it right freaking now and if you can't get it from a mob or get it for free, then just go back to playing the game normally for a while, and eventually you'll be able to get one without risking getting scammed.

I paid someone for a bite on one of my characters and didn't get scammed. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones? I figured I'd make my money back selling the first bite I give out. Not really a big deal, though. Gold is so easy to accumulate in ESO. I find if I need something in particular, it is usually much easier and faster to go farm/grind for it as opposed to spending all night hitting up every guild store across Tamriel just to never find the one that has the item I need. I realize that this isn't so much the case with WW/vamp bites, as they are very rare spawns, and said spawns are usually camped and killed by those who want to sell theirs. I'll probably just give out bites for free to friends I make in-game that want them. That said, I really haven't been impressed at all with being a vamp...may just get it to max level for the achievement and then cure myself.

Heed the advice of our fellow pc gamers. They know what they're talking about. They have already dealt with this a long time ago. Anyone paying for bites is going to regret wasting that money when anyone that wants to become a vamp will be able to do so free.

Amazes me the sheer number of locked threads asking for this yet there are threads complaining about how hard it is to make gold in this game. Players wonder why ZoS seem to not take a lot of criticism seriously. Hmmmm ... I wonder why?

Does the scamming work the other way around? Someone gives a bite but doesn't get paid? Seems to me that this is the safer way of going about it. Receive bite, then pay.

btw ... I've bitten someone as a vamp near the shrine and on loca voice chat I got a .... "Noooo ! I didn't want to get bitten !" .. made my day

I'm not a dev or mod, so I can't really tell you why, but I can tell you what I've personally experienced. I've reported a few players in my time but never actually wrote a ticket regarding this sort of situation due to not being silly enough to pay for a bite. I've had old guildies who stated when they wrote a ticket they got a generic response back and so they didn't pursue the issue as 5k is literally 10 traits in a trading guild and not worth the effort. I'm sure if you write a ticket, with a screen shot and all that jazz and actively engage with the support team the player might receive a warning or something, but all in all you trust traded a person, which is ultimately your own fault.

Besides back pack upgrades and maybe, just maybe the chance I come across something in a guild store, coin is useless to me. I'd rather have the satisfaction of knowing me biting for free made someones time in the game a bit more fun and a lot less stressful. After I got scammed I was ready to just stop playing, specially two times in a row. My friend convinced me it was just a set back and to keep playing. I sit at the shrine about 2 hours a night and listen to grown men scam and cheat these young players, It's wrong, I had a kid message me last night when I was at the shrine asking for a bite, I had already used mine so I told him I'd check with my friend. He had a bite, right when I was messaging him back the same guy who scammed me was about to scam the poor kid so I invited him to a party and warned him and my friend bit him, made his day and was so excited. I've made a list of all known people at the shrine that i've seen scam or my friends have mentioned. The list was over 20 within a few hours. If the scamming don't stop, they'll just take away the option to bite people more an likely.

Once you get a vamp bite (paid or not) pass them out yourself for free. That's what I did. I have two accounts (my wife account I use) and have 2 vamps and 1 ww there now. On my own account I have 1 ww and 2 vamps (one vamp is only lvl 12)

Once people start "trading" bites, you also should do it in same chat but than "FREE BITE".

The more alts, the more free bites you can pass out the faster these scammer cry and stop it. You may get some hate tells but who cares

Vamp cost me 2k and ww 8k, but I passed out so many bites I must have lost all my teeth by now.

Don't know how it's done on console though since you cannot chat. Do people actually stand in a town shouting for bites?
