Dungeon shambles

So just tried to do my first Dungeon, got a group of four randoms via the social group finder, it did not go well, only two turned up, I had to kick the third. I was the only one with mic, we had a valiant effort but only got about a minute into it before constistantly dying (using up lots of shards). I'm not blaming anyone but is this the usual occurance when Dungeon raiding ? Tried to get people from my guilds but they all rejected my invites probably as I'm a much lower level.

The few times I had luck using the dungeon finder early on in ESO, I noticed a good amount of people wouldn't port into the dungeon or just left altogether.

    Solution: Join a guild...

If this is on console remember that a lot of people are new, very new, they have never done this before. They will need time to learn. So yes, it is currently it is to be expected.

You'll find a lot of DPS try to skip the wait by queuing as TANK/HEALER/DPS then failing at all of those roles.

Even in the vet levels I've had to tank as a light cloth sorcerer (and not by choice), because people 'cheated' the queue. Quite annoying when you have half the team AFK, and the others doing so little damage you have to pump steroids to clear rooms on your own.

Vet, non vet? Which dungeon and what level are you?

I assume you mean Group Dungeon (Spindleclutch, Grotto, etc).

The dungeons require a bit more finesse than the rest of the world does. A good group does help. A bad group can kill it for you quickly.

Unfortunately, since you're just starting out, there is only one way to find the good group members...and that's by weeding out the bad ones.

We've all been there. So, when you find good fellow players, remember them.

Also, a good guild will not automatically discount you for being lower level (unless you are far under level for the specific instance - there is a recommended level range.) A good guild will help walk you through the mechanics and give you recommendations on how to better approach these things.

It's not the standard. Unfortunately, it's probably just the standard right now.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.

Generallly, players who use the group finder are those that don't have in game friends to do dungeons with. A lot (not all) of these players are inexperienced.

It's usual when putting together a group of random people. Your playing with 4 ppl that know nothing about each other play styles, did you expect anything different?
Tried to get people from my guilds but they all rejected my invites probably as I'm a much lower level.
We've been running the same ones for months now with no new flavor added so the "just for fun" side of it wore off a while ago. Most high rank players are only still doing dungeons for the helm farms which must be done @ v12. You have to be pretty good or have a lot of CPs to be a v1 for example in a v12 dungeon.

if you dont know the mechanics voice comms make life a lot easier. also if you were low level I can guarantee you aren't playing very optimised builds. they don't have to be min maxed but having an idea of what works and doesn't is essential.

did you have a dedicated tank did he have taunts?
what about a healer what level was he what skills was he using?

had you all eaten food and did you have potions?

most dungeon groups have the dedicated tank healer and 2 dd's I recommend sticking to that set up while starting out.

what was killing you death recaps tell a lot for eg ifyour a dps and the boss 1 shots you with a heavy attack then the tank does not have control. If its a series of smaller hits or a long dot then the healer is not doing his job. if its an enrage mechanic than the dps are not doing there job. if its aoe dont stand in the red :)

Yep this seems fairly consistent with the console's at the moment, more often than not healers in my groups are templars in heavy armor and no resto staffs, it does anger me sometimes especially when i am unable to explain it to them but people will learn as they go.

It comes from this play as you want deal.

    From tanks using 2h swords
to dps in full plate armor losing the 12 percent dps buff from medium armor

Then add in that people really dont want to move etc

    Best solution

We rarely let someone in that is not apart of the guilds and we always check what their running.

Also dont go anywhere without your
    food buffs
    potions
    repair kits
    shards

Always make sure to be fully repaired before entering
Always charge your weapons before entering

Kick anyone not willing to join in on the chat (doesn’t matter if they can talk as long as they listen)

Ps. Better to use psn chat over in game as its just crap lol

    Hope this helps :)

Well I can say that the dungeons I've been in have been quite successful; lucky me then!

But being a Healer it's not too hard to find a good group because that's the one role everyone seems to be struggling to find that's actually effective.

I do hope dungeons become more sophisticated like that of WoW's as time goes on as I've seen plenty of good pure Tanks, DPS and Healers out questing, get to the dungeons! :P
