Digging up bones

Tonight , i was sitting at my computer in vulkhel. i remember the first day of pre-launch. so much excitement, couldn't wait to start playing.

i started eso with 12 friends that moved games and came to eso. over the next 8 week, things changed. bug after bug, lie after lie. I soon came to two conclusions.
1. pc was really nothing more than a paid beta.
2. i was going to need new friends to play with because all my current friends were leaving.

i see all these new posts from console player about how good eso is. i feel robbed. i was in beta, i purchased and pre-ordered, yet zos let me,and a bunch of others, down.

after a year and three months, my game still crashed, pvp still lags, bugs that existed at launch still exist. zos has stopped updating its community and customers when a problems such as lag in pvp . when you finally get answer, it is to take things out of the game because they can fix the issue.

its sad for a game i really want/wanted to succeed.

now i have nothing but jealousy for the excitement of the nee players. at least you wont have to log in and out 20 times a night to finish quests.

No, you were not in a paid beta. You did not come to that conclusion, it has been spouted off thousands of times and you just latched onto it because your experience was not perfect.

Games do not release perfectly anymore... its a sad fact, but it is how it is. Stop whining and either wait for it to finish improving or leave.

It's a very valid contribution. I played since launch, stayed up all night to reserve my names sort of thing and absolutely loved my first playthrough. I took my time, stumbled upon some bugs, got frustrated, the bugs were fixed and I continued to explore. I complained here and there but all in all I had fun. That being said, ZeniMax have been extremely bad with content release, the inevitable B2P announcement and communication in general, so it hasn't all been peaches and cream. HOWEVER, I can understand where you're coming from and I'm also disappointed with ESO. I had very high hopes for the game and so far all my expectations, outside of my initial playthrough, have not been met.

Time shall tell really, the game has sort of been in limbo for a while, they need to throw loads of content at it soon and fix the PvP issues or it's just going to sink.. I can only repeat the same quests for so long.

I played since shortly after launch, and have made similar experiences. Yes, the game is great, yes, I loved my first playthrough, and the second, and the third... yes it had some bugged stuff, yes, the worst ones were usually fixed quickly enough... yes, there hasn't been as much new content as most would expect and hope for, yes, I too was disappointed with the BtP, but took it in stride, and yes, I have seen people leave and may have made comments about "weak minded milk-drinkers"...;)
I also had higher hopes then the game delivered, though I am still having fun. And hope that in due time, they will make a lot of improvements... I know that mostly was on hold while they worked on the console release, but that's out now, so... soon it will come to them having to throw some new content in. Hopefully some new features too (cough, character recustomization, cough). I am certainly hoping the game will be here to stay, improve for many years to come and eventually become what I wished for in the first place. And I have the patience to stick around to see where it goes...

    The Point is....

Is it too much to ask for open communication. I am a PvPer. We have seen the game go from 10 PvP servers down to 5, soon it will be down to only 1 Vet Server that is 30 Days long. Zos cannot seem to fix the Lag issue, took out Forward camps because of "exploiters" and Trollers, and there are still random crashes and freeze in Cyrodil.

The populations has dropped to the point you have to LOOK for a PvP fight that last longer than 20 seconds.

As for the Content, They put the PC people on hold while they made more money on Consol. Fixes, Patches, and Content has been pushed off. People are getting Bored.
I have heard this over and over again.

The PvP in this game, when working right, is the best out there right. However it doesn't work right often.

When you ask questions, you get NO answer, or a lame answer such as "People needs to spread out in PvP to help reduce lag". Really...in a game designed for Mass RvR.

We all were/are paying customers in a way. Even if you do not still pay a sub, you purchased the game. You have a right get a certain standard of a product. If you purchased the Xbox game, and it crashed every 15 min, would you not take it back and get a refund?

Communication, openness, and honesty goes a long way. Don't tell us XXX is coming, than XXX never comes. Creates a bad environment.

I am not bitching, I am simply saying how sad this has all become. A game with so much potential has thus far not lived up to it.
