Not going to happen. They've stated before that they aren't looking to implement holidays, either real or lore, in ESO. Thankfully.
Can't find the items you are looking for? Need a place to trade? We welcome ESO players of all platforms at ESO Trade, the home for trading of goods and services in the lands of Tamriel.

I asked about this a bit ago, but people responded in a way that gave me the impression that devs don't really do a whole lot in the community. I had asked though about real holidays being incorporated in to the game, in asking that do the devs roll out with decorations, or player gifts like I've seen with a lot of other MMORPG's. People seemed to think it "broke lore" too much for some reason (the game isn't real). I always liked and felt appreciated it when devs did stuff like that for the community, and never once heard of a player complain about recieving something for free in any message board since playing mmorpg's some 17 years ago.

Oh we want it... most of us really want Tamrelic Holidays. ZOS doesn't want to implement them because... reasons.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Played UO... I'm 33 and I remember playing it as a junior or something in high school. I absolutely loved that game. There was no, click here, go there, do this, collect reward. You made the game what you wanted it. If I were to ever make a game, that's how I would model it after. I can barely even get in to MMORPG's anymore with how dumbed down they are.

Wonder if you remember a player called Trinox, my son, back then I got him into UO he loved the game and unlike his Dad he got really good at PvP.

I dunno, I played on Lake Superior shard, from about after the first year it was released, for about 3 or 4 years. Until that sissy mirrored tameriel arrived or whatever it was called. They completely changed the game from how it originally was when they introduced the mirrored world. It destroyed player economy, there was a big keep right outside of the main town Brittain or whatever, that had literally hundreds of player vendors inside it, a year after that release, thing was about gone since everyone was afraid to go in to the side where you could still kill players. Remember in that game, you could have multiple people with the same name... mine was Merlin and some other stuff.

I loathe that response to Holidays. Players cant decorate towns or run sales or introduce special items or costumes. Relying on the players to "Celebrate" is unacceptable. What can we do... realistically? Get together and do dance emotes?

Well we can not "decorate towns" but then again if people really want do events it can be done which have show i personal dont care we have holidays for at one point it will just be like it is WoW samething over and over again year in and year out and each time the are holiday in WoW people on there forum just whine about.

But it would be nice if the citys in ESO get some "holidays decorate" when are holidays lore wise it would be nice i admint but do quest for holidays is only fun te 1 year but we should never say never other who know what will happen down road here in ESO the maybe will add in future.

When i play AoC the did not have "holidays" but funcom did a xmas event you need found and kill special animal and loot and got ingame picutre you win gametime other cool thing. But hell we did alot of event on my server when i play AoC my guild hold a xmas marathon raid event where any people on server could sign up on our forum, we did horse races as well for anyone on server and 1st price was 2000g, 2nd price was 1000g and 3rd price was 500g so yes event can be done with out game company do anything.

ESO is one of the few games that could implement this in a lore friendly way and I find it very very odd that anyone from ZoS would ever say "no we will never do this" frankly I do not believe it, as that would be akin to willfully cutting off a revenue stream and community building at the same time.

IMO the fact that we dont have a calendar in game and holidays is a MAJOR OVERSIGHT!

Holidays or not, they need some recurring events in the game.
