Smaller characters move faster?

I was playing my mountain of an Orc, max height and muscle then switched to my pack mule character who's a female Breton with min height and muscle and she seems to move faster on both foot and horseback. Has anyone noticed a similar difference between large and small characters?
I thought that armor might make the difference but I stripped them and it still feels the same.

All characters move the same speed, it just looks like you are moving faster because of the quicker animation.

There are ways to incease your speed, but the default run speed is the same all around.

Size doesn't affect movement speed, although it sometimes appears that it does because the different animations make the larger character models seem more ponderous and lumbering.

If you're not convinced, break out a stop watch and time your characters across a fixed distance :)

Orcs have the potential to run better than anyone else. You'll want to wear a good medium armor set for running to start, as well as get the Steed Stone. Orcs get the Swift Trait as well, which grants a 12% cost reduction for running, as well as a 9% boost to run speed. This makes the Orcs the fastest race, all other things being equal (armor types, set bonuses, standing stones).
