need guidance for my Nightblade

just started playing the game (new to MMO's & feeling a little overwhelmed with the amount of things to learn hehe) was hoping for some beginner guidance. Im playing a Nightblade (focusing on Stamina) I plan to do PvP & PvE (but as a competative person will probably focus more on PvP) Ill be using melee/bow but cant decide between 2handed or Dualweild what would be better for my playstyle (or more noob friendly )

also any other tips/advice would be greatly appreciated

2H has Rally for heals but DW has some good skills Steel Tornado, Rapid Strikes do alot of DPS plus you can get some healing from your class skills like swallow soul, stamina morphs like killers blade and surpise attack I'd set my bar up with Drak Cloak, Suprise Attack, Killer's Blade, Swallow Soul(or grim focus) and steel tornado.

One of my bars always has 2H for Rally which also give 20% damage. The other I switch between either bow for ranged or dual wield for mele AOE with Steel Tornado.

Furor

Both DW, 2hand, and bow are all viable. The setup below is what I would recommend regardless of what weapon you do decide to use. (DW and 2hand have the 6% bonus damage so if you prefer meele I'd recommend them over bow for leveling, whereas a bow is great for pvp)

Steel tornado is really best if you plan to AOE grind. However, unless you plan on doing that this is the setup I would highly recommend running for quest grinding (This is what I ran in closed beta and release).


1: Surprise Attack (High damage heavy hitter) Use this every other ability.
2: Killer's Blade (Execute and self heal) Spam this when a mob is below 25% health for the self heal.
3: Ambush (Distance closer and stun) You will rotate this ability with Surprise Attack for huge damage, and constant stuns
4: Siphoning Attacks (If you are really struggling for health you could try Leeching Strikes) I know this might seem counter productive with the weapon damage reduction but the chance of 15% stamina restoration is huge. This lets you keep spamming those Ambush attacks, resulting in more stun, and thus less damage taken overall. This is INCREDIBLY useful for those elite targets.
5: Below 42 in Siphoning this is a free slot. Use whatever you feel comfortable with or wish to level up. Once you reach 42 in siphoning I'd use Power Extraction. This is an AOE damage dealer that heals you AND increases your weapon damage (This will bring you back to even from using Siphoning Attacks)


Run this setup and you will breeze through everything

I have three layouts
A dual wield layout that I can use for PvP PvE and grinding
A bow layout which is strictly for PvP
A 2H layout which is strictly for grinding Craglorn (I have not used it for PvP yet although I plan to test it out soon).

I don't grab all the abilities for those three lines, just ones that mesh well with what abilities I have and what I plan to do. For example, I tried to DW my way through Craglorn and failed... MISERABLY. Even with high crit (61%) and weapon damage I could not survive mobs that were stronger than wasps. But when I got only two 2H skills combined with one Undaunted skill and one NB skill I found I could easily handle (and yes even solo) overland bosses and mobs (with the exception of Scaled Court mobs... f*ck them because I can't even last five seconds).

In short, I only have two skills total from 2H, two skills total from DW, and three skills from bow. Its the passives from all which I got which caused me to grind for skyshards. But you should do that anyway just so you have options.

Hi,

I would level all 3 skill lines as each can be used in different situations,

I love to solo so when i solo i use bow and 2H,
2H has Rally which is a must have skill,

when i run with my guild i swap 2H for Dual wield which i prefer for mobs.
(steel tornado and sap essence)

There is no right or wrong answer to this as you need to figure what works for you.

jeykl has a great stamina build if you work towards that you cant go far wrong
