Summary Executions

So, after I chose RUN in the guard chat box, I have been getting slaughtered ever since. I somehow managed to rack up a 4k bounty and have been paying it off slowly ever since. It seems like a ridiculous consequence for a new player to have to endure, I am coming on level 10 and I still haven't gotten it below 2k. Apparently quest choices raise your bounty as well. I understand I was a bad boy and killed a 61 citizens, and close to 100 livestock, but the punishment for these crimes completely erase any enjoyment or satisfaction I had from committing mass murder. The entire pay the fine/be executed on sight for the rest of your life is not the ESO experience I was expecting. If I didn't already have the name War Criminal, I would have just deleted this character and started another one. Having to pay a 4k bounty at level 2 is about as crappy as it gets.

Maybe ESO could include a tutorial about Justice instead of just saying, oh wow, you killed NPCs, now you have to pay 4k or be executed on sight for the remainder of the game, or until you hit level 15 and manage to pay off your debts...
I salute my Half Life War Boys, who will ride with me eternal on the highways of Valhalla. I am your redeemer. It is by my hand you will rise from the ashes of this world.

Question...how do you get 4K bounty at level 2? Because bounty price scales to level, unless they erased that. If they did erase it, I hope ZOS has a lot of flame resistance...

As far as the tutorial...yeah, I wish that was possible. But then again, do we really want to train people to be criminals in the real world?
If you can't handle the heat...stay out of the kitchen!

You willfully and knowingly murdered 100+ people/animals and are surprised that there are consequences to your actions?

After your first crime, you are warned of the consequences. Continuing to do so, then having the testicular fortitude to run around in town to try and do quests or whatever... kinda on you at that point.

As for increasing bounty based in quest choices, that is not a thing.

Best of luck to you in the future!

Try playing another character for a day or two - your bounty decreases over time even if you are not playing, or playing a different character.

I finally found the fence at lv 10. I got my bounty down to 2300. Almost there.

You'll get used to it. Also keep in mind there is a setting that prevents you from attacking innocents. Just be careful next time.

If yo're on PC, get the Master Thief add on (helps with auto-stealing barrels). if yo're on console, just be careful.

Just note with each level progression you do the bounty does increase (i.e level 10 to level 11). My bounty has been sitting comfortably around 120,000 gold for roughly a week now.

Thanks for that DemisedNinja, As I stated earlier, I was under the impression it was due to my quest choices. I now realize I did level up after turning in that quest, and making pretty *** quest decisions for the NPCs, so I assumed it was a game penalty for quest decisions...
