[PS4] LockPicking

Okay, before anybody says "look on the interwebs"...I did.
And, that is why I have a question.
Is lockpicking on PS4 bugged?
In all the "guide" videos the person picking the lock pushes it down (one time), and releases at the "shake & rattle sound"...cool.
However, when I do it (On PS4) it requires me to hold it down until it does the rattle and sound and then it pops back up and makes me push it down a second time until it shakes-n-rattles and then I can "set" it.
It won't set on the first depression of the pin...I have experimented with over 200 picks.
Isthis a bug, or did ZOS change it since the guide videos were made?

Locks would be very easy to pick if I didn't have to press each pin down twice to set it...it takes up twice as much time the way it is.

Does anybody else on PS4 have this trouble...or am I missing something?

I don't care what platform it is on...an MMORPG without Text Chat is NOT an MMORPG!

For me on the PS4 I had much better results pushing down immediately when I feel the vibration in the controller instead of using the visual cues. Other folks may have better techniques, but so far that is the easiest method for me.

I have had to at times push it down a second time, as it is not always the case for me not sure if there is a bug. From what I have learnt it really is about timing and letting go of R2 at the right time.

Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.

I'm not sure as far as sound related goes, but I release as soon as the controller starts giving feedback, otherwise I tend to break lockpicks if I force it too much past the shaking animation. If I don't get it at that point I still can usually tell which of the four positions it is supposed to be locked in and go slightly past that point before releasing to lock it in.

PSN: Dying_Digitally I'm new to the game as of console release and I play on NA server.

I'm also struggling with lockpicking...I can't even do the simple ones in the allocated time. It's driving me nuts!

I've looked on you tube videos, and I know how it is supposed to be done, but just can't get it to work for me lol

I don't know why, but this has simply been the absolute easiest lockpicking ever. I hardly ever break lockpicks and I've had around 150 chests open so far (Would check, but maintanence). I've also never had to retry, I always get it first try even master chests.

Push down until you see/hear the rumble, let go as soon as possible (so you don't break the pick) but remember place. Most times you will not get it to set the first time you hit that rumble. Instead remember that general placing and push down that far again and let go. If you're in just the general area it will set. If it keeps rumbling it will likely reset.

Most people keep pushing until it rumbles always (which breaks picks on harder chests and resets the pin often), but if you remember where about the area is you just let go at about that length.

Often times, also, you'll see a general pattern too. Lots of simple chests go down to lowest valley and intermediates like to follow a descending to ascending order.
