Issue with in-game mail on Xbox 1

Each time I try to send someone a letter via the mail system it tells me that it isn't a valid character name to send to.

I don't type the letters when adding their name, I'm on their eso profile and choose Send Mail from there and it fills their name in for me so why is this an issue?

Would think bug? You try and put a @ in front of their name or is already one there?

I know stupid question, can you type messages to people in email?

The name I would type in to send would be their Xbox live gamertag, well I imagine it would be anyways because that's what it fills it in as when I click to send that person a letter but idk, I've never been able to send a letter. I tried early in release, like during launch week but I figured it was buggy from being launch week. I tried earlier today and same problem, I tried sending mail to a few different people to see if it was just buggy here and there but it was like that on the 4 people I tried to send mail to.

It's not that much of a problem, I can always just send them an Xbox message but still, little hasslesome

So look at persons ESOTU name and put in for example @beer and see if it allows it then.

I'm talking about in game mail people. Not here.

In case you meant in game (I was confused by BigM's "ESOTU name" comment.

But even if the case is adding "@ in the player name box, no. I just tried and still says There is no player with that name." I'm pretty sure there is if you filled it in for me eso.

It's not a Gamechanger but it is annoying not being able to use in game mail and have to exit eso to send a message.

    Hold up.

Is it talking about the toons name? Or the gamertag name? I assumed gamertag because every group/guild/seeable name is the gamertag but if it's the toon name, does that mean I have to look at guild roster and look under their gamertag to see toon name (only way I've found so far)? If so that's a major pain in the a** and they should change it.

That eso example name....was it the first thing you saw? Lol. I just imagine you typing that then after typing "example" you looked around, saw a beer next to you and "ah yes, @beer!" Haha
