$18 for a lioness mount is absurd and lacks business logic. If you sold mounts in the $5-$7 range then you stand to sell much more then you do now. A couple thousand sales could easily turn into a couple hundred thousand sales if your prices were more reasonable...this applies to everything in the store. ra
I personally would've purchased several things totaling more then $18 but won't purchase anything when you're asking that price for a single mount. I'm willing to bet that the bear mounts will be listed for $20 or more judging by the pattern of your prices.

Bottom line, set reasonable prices to sell more and make more money...it's a win for everyone, both you and the players.

True but how many more people would buy if the prices were more reasonable? I doubt they even read the forums but I felt the need to post this after I facepalmed at the $18 mount for sale.

Tip of the Day: You don't have to buy it.

You're not obligated to buy one single item in there, just like I don't have to save my crowns, each sub month, until a mount that I really like comes my way.

Thank you for your input, but I can easily name two other MMOs where mounts are even higher priced and people still go crazy for them.

"Could be" is nil compared to "what is". $18 is not unreasonable unless you are unemployed. You buy it once, all your characters get it. If they drop it to say $9, they would need to sell double to make that money. Thats a bit of a logical jump.

I don't doubt there's other games where mounts cost more and still sell because some people will gladly throw their money at something new and cool without thinking twice about it or caring about the cost. Many others like myself can't or won't buy into something blindly and it's the countless players like that is where Zeni stands to earn much more money from (people like the one from the free crowns thread for example).
I personally know 3 people that are playing ESO and none of us have bought anything from the store because of the prices, one of whom is single and earns more then enough money to burn on crowns but refuses to out of the principle of their price.

As I've said, the sales potential would be much higher if items were more affordable and it doesn't cost them much to put a digital item in the store (a couple of man hours). If mounts were in the $5-$9 I would probably buy more then one to roleplay my characters, same with pets, but as things stand I won't buy a single item.

Penny Pinching and understanding Value to Price ratios are completely different. What you see as "not worth it" the vast majority see it as, "Shut up and take my money!"

You seem to be unwilling to see if their point of view. I can dig that. Who really wants to wear another persons shoes?! But, to agree to disagree, nothing you say is going to change Zeni's minds. They have a marketing team that has done enough research to justify the item to cost values as being "reasonable" and "desirable".

But the chepear it is the more common it becomes, so less people want it, for me said mount is £10, thats 2 hrs work if your on minumum wage, more like 1.5 hours for the average person, i personally dont think it is overpriced.

Pretty sure the lioness is not the most expensive mount in this game anyway (see that horse with fire and those limited mounts). Plus every now and then, there are special sales when mounts and stuff are half priced for a while.

Exactly what Kurimugann mentioned, the 1800 crown lioness is not limited time so it could come up in one of the sales sometime. That answers your problem, you just have to be patient.

You gotta be kidding me. I'm fully stocked on senche and don't need another. I'm considering another alt that can use a nice solid tan matching cat mount.

Wow sells plenty of optional mounts for 25 so you are on the bad end my friend.

also been discussed to death before and compared to other MMO's mountprices

I was actually pleased to see the price. The leopard and panther were both 2,500 crowns which I personally feel is too much (and I used both the forums and the /feedback function to let ZOS know this is the only reason I didn't buy them).

I'm now hoping that the clouded-leopard will also be 1,800 when it's released. If it is then it'll be an instant sale from me.

The prices of some of these crown store items truly make me feel like they are great at playing the nickel and dime game... I know that I do have a CHOICE whether I want to buy these crown store items... but... heh...

As long as this game is up and running and working well for the vast majority of players... I am compelled not to complain about the price of anything in the store...
