Does anyone know for sure if there really isn't any differences between the horses sold on the stables? Because I heard there isn't, but I wanted to make sure, because I don't understand why they haven't changed prices to 10k like the standard one.

The only difference in the horses is cosmetic. Every mount you buy has the same stats based on your riding skill. Also any mount that you buy is available to all your characters on the account, so you only need to buy the mount once.

I wanted to buy them for cosmetic reasons anyway, just wondering why after the rework on the riding system they are still 40k.

Because they remain a gold sink for the people who care enough about the cosmetics to be willing to pay the extra for them. Frankly there aren't very many gold sinks in the game, so removing one would be a bad idea. They reduced the price on the cheapest horse so that people wouldn't feel like they needed to use crowns to buy a mount if they didn't want to, but keeping the prices of the other horses the same is a good idea.

Because they are account wide now, and as a one time purchase are functionally cheaper when you factor that in.

The 17k horse was reduced to 10k so brand new players could get a mount early without spending real money. If you you want something other than a brown horse, you'll need to spend gold or crowns.

We have wondered that too. It would make sense if they came with say, 10 Speed lessons right out of the gate or something. So, you would start off with 10 speed and could go to 60. Although, with the new Lesson system, by the time most people get to where 40K is easy to get, they would have already boosted the horse to over 10 in speed, I would imagine.

But, when your at VR Ranks, 40,000 gold is just a couple of hours of dungeon delving and vendoring loot.
