I want to be able to re customize my characters appearance. Hair, Body, Colours, Sizes. I don't care what it costs. I will buy it, just let it happen guys, let it happen. ;)

Well, I think we should not be able to change our characters permanent appearance, like Face, height, skin color, race, etc. but we should definitely be able to change adornments, hair style, eye color, beards and Body Paint.

Being able to change its full appearance will break the immersion for us immersion lovers, for example:
Day one: you see your blonde, skinny, short firend called Nen walking around the town square and you say hi.
Next day (Day 2): Oh hey Nen, "OH WTF! you are now red head, tall as Nirn, and weigh 247 pounds.....

It really breaks immersion and people recognition.
  • JayceStyles
But if you like immersion wouldn't you keep the same face and just change the other things or not even buy that option at all? Shouldn't limit the masses because a few like immersion of games.

Skyrim had a face sculptor in Riften, I would love to see that brought in.

I honestly think that might be a major problem for you. When other players actions are able to break your "Immersion" to a video game. But with that being said it sounds like a personal problem that you are imposing on others for your own satisfaction of "Immersion". My actions shouldn't break it for you.

You need to understand that it's no longer a single player RPG. ESO is an MMO with millions of players world wide, Don't let strangers ruin the game for you by living off "Immersion".

Character re customization is a great way for the Devs to make some coin off us and help produce greater future updates for all to enjoy.

If somebody wants to pay a premium to change their full appearance it has nothing to do with you. Some of us are here to Role Play and gain immersion, Some of us are here for the MMO experience.

You want them to take months and months to develop and perfect a system that will run smooth and flawlessly for us, that is current not in the game and was never intended, and you expect it to be free? That's not how life works.

I could see them offering a Character appearance reset for $9.00. And a Race change for $15.00 I don't think they will ever allow a faction change, As it would severely mess up quests.

mmmm Nope! You paid to play the game that was originally created, You are not entitled to anything ;) , I don't recall them ever 'promising' the wheels are in motion of it. They have stated they would like to add it at some point. Need to be realistic.

I'd love it to be free aswell! But you need to be realistic about things. By having the Crown Store, they are able to work on ever more and higher quality updates for us :dizzy:

I'm sorry, but that is not how cash shops tend to work. The money they generate through the crown store will mainly be used to put more things into the crown store, not create "high quality updates". They will want to make sure that their source of income is mainained, which is almost exclusively the cash shop now. Just, you know, being realistic.

Regardless, I don't see why they couldn't release it as a DLC that is free for ESO plus members for the duration of their subscription like any other DLC.

This is something we have been asking for, for over a year. They know we want it, there are tons of threads about it, us begging ZOS to let us have it. They have said they are going to implement it at some point. While we all would like it to be free, that's not going to happen now that the game is B2P. I'm okay with that, just wish they would hurry up and do it already!

This game has really serious problems with body proportions. For example if your character looks excessively fat in Altmer Light Armor, he's most likely to have anorexically slim waist in Dunmer Light Armor. I wouldn't mind being able to finetune my appearance just because of that.

To people complaining about their immersion.I believe if people are willing to shell out REAL CASH for these options they should have the right to PAY ZENIMAX to do so. Your immersion should have nothing to do with a business transaction. Your immersion doesnt pay bills. This game is a BUISNESS and I believe as AS LONG AS IT FITS THE LORE (as in there are examples of requested content in other games) people should have the option to PAY for whatever they want.

I AM a roleplayer who is into the "immersion" thing and I completely agree with you. I want appearance changing ability BECAUSE of roleplaying and immersion AND because it's an MMO. Say in a storyline my character is killed. But she's VR12. And has mastered some crafts. I should delete her to make room for a new character? I think not. What I SHOULD be able to do is CHANGE HER APPEARANCE COMPLETELY and CHANGE HER NAME. Now she's a "new" character but I have not wasted my time investment in her. And if Sally looks completely different from the last time I saw her but is still named Sally and talks to me like she knows me? My character just asks, "So...what spell hit you?" IMMERSION SAVED. I just want to be able to reset my character's height. I wanted him to be slightly shorter than default, but as soon as I got into the main city I realised everyone else made their characters tall as -BLEEP-, so my character looks like a "little person" compared to them.

It's not something that needs to be done immediately, but it's something that should be possible at some point. I hate the thought that I'd have to make a completely new character and do everything all over again just to rectify this issue.

I'd also like it if I could make my character's hair blue. I know it'd break immersion, but that doesn't stop me wanting to do it. I mean, you can run around dressed as the medieval equivalent to Krusty the Clown, so my guy having blue hair can't be too much of a stretch, can it?

It would not break immersion at all for anybody, and if it did it is because they allowed it to. You can only be resonsible for yourself. I don't think Blue Hair is an issue at all! Nirn is a magical world isn't it? :3

There are many ways to completely change your character's appearance without breaking the immersion.

    Here are some examples:

1.) Your character found a plastic surgeon.

2.) Your hero finally unequipped their disguise.

3.) Your character was hit with an ugly stave and their face and body finally healed.

4.) An evil being possessed your character and took on their form.

5.) The evil being which possessed your character and took on their form was finally exorcised.

6.) Your character died and now your following the story of a new hero.

    7.) Magic

Any game should at least one free character design adjustment, or give the character designer the ability to preview in several game environment lighting conditions.

The "awesome warrior princess in the character designer --> The Toxic Avenger under gameplay lighting" is more immersion breaking than anything.

I spent some time perfecting the makeup for my DA:Inquisition character, and in the game she looked like Bozo The Clown. Had to restart and just turn makeup off. C'mon, devs, we've been clamoring about this forever.

The Fallout 4 character designer looks promising.
