Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

I can't link builds ATM cause I'm on my phone. I'll reply again when I get home. In the meantime, you should be able to access my sorc build by following the link in my signature.

I am on XBox one looking for some great Builds I do have a question

Which is more important spell damage or Critical hit

Most of the builds you find are end game builds. Which is fine as that is when you need to be more focused. What works in Leveling/Silver/Gold may not work in PvP and probably not in Trials.

However you have to get there first, so that is something else to consider. You did not say what level you are, so I am going to assume lower level starting out. First and foremost, you need to level your Class Skills, your Weapon Skills and your Support Skills. You do this by having the skills on the bar as you do things (kill mobs, turn in quests). For most of your leveling, you want at least one skill from each class line on your bar (you also get nice passives for doing this) and one or two weapon skills. Then you also want to level your support skills (Inner Light, Hunter, Hardened Ward, etc) so have those equipped until you get them to at least Morph stage. If your Casting, you want Inner Light and possibly Entropy at max level. You will use one or the other or both. Also, to stay alive you want Hardened Ward or Boundless Storm (forget the pre-morph name) or both. So, remember that.

As for Armor, A caster is best in Light Armor, but your squishy. You can add in some Heavy to help that out. Most casters end up with 5 Light/2 Heavy. However during leveling, until you unlock the 5 piece bonuses, use a mix of all three armor types. This way you can switch out armors end game without having to grind anything.

For weapons, 2H and DW do increase your spell damage, but if your casting, those weapons are going to be weak for normal attacks (no Stamina). Destruction Staffs are just fine to use. They keep you away from the Mobs if you want, and I can tank in Light Armor using Hardened Ward and Boundless Storm in combo But, you might be able to make a bladed weapon work. Bows really benifit from Stamina, and that is why I use a Destro Staff as I can do lots of ranged damage with it, and have nice spell power.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

is there a guide that shows you what gear is the best for each level?

is there a guide that shows you what gear is the best for each level?

Not really. As the gear that is best for you depends on your play-style and rotations and how you approach things. And you will out level any Dropped Set long before you find all 5 pieces (usually).

However you can't go wrong with putting your Caster into 5 pieces of Seducer (Crafted Set Armor) and then 3/4 pieces of something else that buffs what you want. Then you either run magic cost reduction or magic regen jewelry (again, depends on how you approach things). As for Glyphs, use all Magic Glyphs on your armors. As for Attributes, put most if not all into Magic.

Use whatever gear that comes along with the above in mind.

Edit, I had Can instead of Can't in Can't go wrong. Opps

No there is not and personally I'm glad it isn't

While it is perfectly ok to have endgame builds and starterbuilds. In between you should be encouraged to experiment. Understand how different aspects of builds work and what works and works not. further, you should be encouraged to unlock any skills available for you.

From your inventory there should be a tool tip that tells you what the piece does and what set bonuses it has, if any.
