Grouping on consoles is a nightmare. Share your experiences.

Im enjoying nearly everything about this game but trying group on consoles is laughable. 2 hour wait in the group finder only to have someone leave within 30 seconds. And on the odd occasion the group stays full, atleast one person can't find there way into the instance. I even had one person message me to ask why he/she was in my group. Someone please, please tell me there's going to be improvement to this, because at the moment it's unusable.

Never had a problem grouping in group finder or with my friend. Only issues right now for me is the fact that my friends are not all appearing in my friend list yet. So make it annoying always having to type the name it to group.

This is the only thing you said that can really be addressed. You cannot deter other players from leaving if they want, and ZOS has added massive icons for each group dungeon that allow you to teleport directly to them.

Are you queuing as DPS and only as DPS? Because that is far and away the most saturated role right now. As was stated above, queuing for other roles generally nets a very fast response time, though time of day also depends.

I haven't waited more than 5 minutes on Xbox. I queue up as tank/dps and join on multiple dungeons and continue playing. I just go sort my inventory/bank, dye armor, farm nodes, check my research timers, feed my horse or just take a break and go to the bathroom, fill up my water and eat. I haven't had any issues with it so far.

If it's anything like on PC, as a Healer or a Tank your wait time will be way, way shorter than if you are a DPS.

I shudder to imagine trying to find a group as a DPS without text chat.

However as the console population seems to be quite high atm, as I mentioned elsewhere, I always found hanging around outside the dungeon you are looking to form a group for to be quite effective.
