Is there any better way to power level Blacksmithing (and other professions)...

... other than using this method with multiple characters:

My main character buys dozens stacks of V10+ ingots
Crafts a certain weapons (I used to craft 2H and 1H swords, is it worth it?)
Then puts all the crafted gear into store so that my alt can pick it up and deconstruct it.
My alt then gains more exp from deconstructing someone else's gear and considering it was V10+ gear, it'll go up high.

I once hit a 44lvl Blacksmithing while being just lvl 6 myself. And the reason I do this is to be able to reduce the time of 3 researched traits and especially get the hireling to come in every 12hrs.

So I ask you, do you know of any more useful way to get power level Blacksmithing/Woodworking/Leatherwork? If so, let's share it here.

I personally think you're wasting your time. Gears arent that useful for leveling, it doesnt matter what you wear or use, and hirelings got nerfed a few month back. Craft Writs where the good stuff is now.

What do you mean by this? Also, how are the hirelings now? I haven't been on for a couple months so

    Hi Eres,

Deconstructing someone else's gear is definitely the quickest way to level your inspiration for any tradeskill. Writs also offer a lot of inspiration which you can complete daily once you finish the certification quests (Found in each major city).

My honest suggestion is there is no real benefit to having a trade skill above level 40. So once you hit 40 in a tradeskill I would continue leveling up your character. This way instead of spending all of that gold on VR ingots you can simply deconstruct the VR equipment you loot yourself.

    Hope this helps!

Provisioning is easy with only 200 poultry, 100 flour and 100 millet you can get from level 5 to 50 in about 30-40 minutes. Make sure you learn at least one recipe for each level as well and remember that blue recipes give you the same experience as green ones. Also make sure to get the passives that increase the number of servings per craft so you can get more from selling your excess food to vendors.

Smith in and other armour/weapon leveling is probably best done how you described it above. Takes a while but it works out in the end. Also don't forget to put skill points to unlock the higher level crafting. That will give you access to the better writs as well as better items from hirelings.

Hirelings was nerfed, I think it was because of players with mulitple alts. I havent gotten gold tanning in weeks. Also when I was leveling my second char, I crafted some green gears at lvl 30 and used them all way to lvl 50. So gears are useless.

Furor, yeah. Thing is that I intend to level up crafting on my alt, which will by that time be level 4-6. Therefore if I stay on around 40lvl blacksmithing, it will be nearly impossible for me to get to 50 in the closest future just by deconstructing low level items that I get

Research everything you can and decon green and above of everything you find. You'll still get there in no time.

No need to pay for other peoples' creations for decon purposes.

EDIT: You just have to break down another character's item, not another player's. So if you make something on Alt1 and decon on Alt2, it's technically someone else's creation. You'll get create IP's for Alt1 and decon IP's (higher than create) on Alt2.

    Rinse and repeat.

Merlin, yeas I am aware of that and that is exactly what I've been doing in the past. I was just wondering if htere is some "strategy" or smthing.

I wonder, what item is best to craft? As in 2H, 1H, Dagger, Axe etc...?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that you get more inspiration from deconning another player's gear than another char of your own's deal..

That is indeed right m8. I once had a crafting partner - we crafted gear and then switched it. More inspiration for both of us.

Don't worry about trying to power leveling it. Just deconstruct everything you get. If you power level your craft you will end up in a situation where the next levels worth materials is in the next zone or even the next zone after that. Just do writs and deconstruct. If you had to power level something I would say do enchanting.

Mansone, I kinda lost there at trying to figure out what you were saying, but I do get the point.
Don't worry, I've been playing over a year and since I haven't played for some time I was just wondering if something has changed. I do this powerleveling to get to 50 at blacksmithing asap to get 12hr Hireling and 3 traits research unlocked, not to mention getting more from deconstructing.
I've just bought around 5000 of void ingots and quicksilver ingots so time to get things done and close this thread

@Eres: It might be important to note that when you max crafting on a low level toon, it makes Writs difficult to do. Because the Writs have to be turned in to the zone they are appropriate for. You can pull the Writ in the first zone city and fill it with inventory, but to turn it in you will have to travel to a high level zone. It's not a deal breaker, but it's worth considering.

Tarukmockto, I haven't been playing for a long time now and I am feeling a bit out of place, lol. Seeing people talk about stuff I haven't heard of yet - such as writs. I've looked it up just now. So these writs are like certifications for each profession?

And since it gives inspiration it is worth to do rather than power level it just like I did, right? I usually spend around 15-25k gold on power leveling blacksmithing to around 50, which is no problem since I started this specific alt while having 270k gold so I didn't mind spending some of it. Could you briefly explain me these wrists, please?

@Eres: The Crafting Writs are a daily task that can give you good IP when first building the professions. Although the equipment Writs are very costly for the return at the higher levels. The Consumable Writs are still a pretty good deal even if you are at max IP in a profession.

After you do the Writ Certifications (available in starter zone city) you can then pull daily Writs, one per day for each profession. The Writ will ask you to create something related to the profession and possibly for some number of mats to turn in for a Writ Container.

When you turn in the Writ in addition to the container you will receive a small amount of gold. You can then open the container and receive a random selection of items related to the profession. Occasionally this might include the rare gold level mats.

You may also rarely receive a Survey Map. This map will guide you to an area where you can loot several spots for double the usual payout of whatever the spot is. IE: Herbs, Runes, etc.

Hope that helps to understand Writs.

For blacksmithing just sneak around the main citys and steal all the heavy armor and weapons. You'd be surprised how many metal weapons are sitting aroumd a guild store traders stall. The market district is a gold mine. Weapons salesmen and armorer have loads of the stuff.
    Hope this helps.

Just do what everyone does which is, steal all Armour/Weapons then deconstruct; after you do that log out and rinse/repeat.
