Patch 2.10 is 2.6GB? How?

So after reviewing the changes made for that patch, they seem to be only minor tweaks to the code. I wouldn't even imagine those changes taking up more than 100Mb, is ZOS perhaps already adding new maps such as the imperial city in these updates without giving us access to them just yet? It would be pretty smart to gradually let people download these maps instead of having to download 10GB+ in one run, eventually saturating the server.

Yeh they put other stuff in there that the Dataminers find for us.
That said, the Launcher and patching could Really use some streamlining.

Oh. For the changes they made i would have expected 5GB that was the norm on PC since launch. I mean, they did fix one entire sack. ZOS is improving their patching systems.

If by soon you mean late then sure!

Patches has always been larger than what they should be if they only contained what's listed in the patch notes, God knows why they push out unfinished branches.

I'll have a datamine thread up as soon as the patch is released in EU. For some reason this patch messed up my NA install. :'(.

More than likely it is Sound Files. They have Sound fixes that they have been gathering and waiting for a patch to put out. There may be a reason as to why they can't just update the few that are being updated in each catagory.

I have also noticed new barks (random utterances from NPCs) as patches come out.

@Paulington Pretty sure it's not just you. Maybe once they get NA fixed up a repair will help. I'm hoping so at least!

they dont actually patch the game at all.. they replace ALL the edited files all in its original size, which is why you have to waste so much bandwith.. its a amateur way of doing it but it still works regardless

Does that mean we have to download another 2.6 GB later today when they get around to fixing the provisioning bug?

that depends on if they're patching in game textures or fixing graphics glitches

Yeah, it seems to be causing a lot of issues @MissBizz, my only care is that @Dominoid beats me to the datamining glory! :D.

Hopefully they locate the root cause of these crashes soon and don't delay the EU patch due to it.

What I found interesting @Xendyn is that only a crown store version was found. At least so far.

Yeh but it was the same with the XP boost potions, we didn't see the craftable one until recently. Don't want to start another speculation uproar...

Xbox One Games are on Blu-Ray discs.

Xbox One games come up to 60GBs at release. A full game on 360 was like 5-10GBs.

A 2GB update is comparatively small but large at the same time.

Clearly... the issue is Blu-Ray... Blu-Ray crashes games. Huzzah.
