Can't use same character on both North Amer. Server and Euro Server?

As everyone who purchased the game at launch knows, it was tough to get onto the North American server. So, when I started I just chose the European server. Today I go to log in to the North American server, and I can't use the same character that I was using on the European server? Can someone tell me if I am doing something wrong or if this holds true?

    NA and EU are separate servers, you cannot use one character for both.

    Yup its meant to be the way, eu and na servers are kept apart even things you buy in the crown store don't cary over into the other server from my understanding

    This is correct, nothing transfers over. OP, think of it like having 2 accounts.

    Yes, sort of lol I only say sort of because things like dyes from achievements, which are account wide, but also do not transfer over.

    Actually a good thing like I said in another post. You get 8 characters per server. So 16 altogether with each console and or PC/MAC. If you also buy the PC/MAC version then you can make another 16 which adds up to 32 characters altogether.

    One great thing ZoS has done, it really is a plus.

    Or, you could think of it being like any other MMO, you know the ones that have multiple servers where your characters exist only on one server and where the only things that apply across the servers are account-wide ones. Offhand, I can't think of a single MMO where you can create a character on one server and then play it on another one - but correct me if I'm wrong!
