Crafting for idiots (I'm the idiot)

....I want to make pauldrons it says I need a bunch of stuff that I'm pretty sure aren't in level 5 areas, anyone wanna fill the sad idiot in?

If you click the video beginners guide in my signature, I have guides on general crafting and each craft specifically. I also have guides explaining all the traits, and explaining researching (which you need to do to craft stuff with traits)

To craft pauldons you will need refined mats. You will have to buy or find iron ore, when you have 10 iron ore, you can refine this to make iron ingot. How many iron ingots you need depends on the level of item you want to craft.

You will also need a racial style stone. This will either be the stone for whatever race you are, or if you have read some motif books.. One of those. (Example, the bosmer style needs a bone style stone)

There will also be an area for a trait stone, this is optional. To add a trait you must have the correct trait stone, as well you need to have researched that trait for that specific item.

To make paldrouns, you need iron ingots (refined from iron ore) and a style stone.By default, you only know the style of your race, but you can find or buy style motifs that you 'use' to learn new style. You can buy the style stones from crafting NPCs, but they are common loot from containers (too common once you reach higher levels). To add a trait you first need to research the trait, and then you need the trait stone. FYI deconstruncting loot will not only level your crafting skill, but also give you crafting materials. where is iron?

Watch my blacksmithing guide, right at the beginning it shows harvesting iron. It looks like a reddish rock.



Its often found at the bottom of cliffs, or around rock piles.
