I am a returning player and since setting up Tamriel Unlimited the game is constantly crashing to desktop. What is the current story with this problem is it common ?
I tried the fixes that were on the other thread . I ended up deleting the documents folder and reloading. Now it crashes randomly. I have been getting crashes once in a half hour at random places not always in battle. Disappointing that while I'm giving the game another go this is happening
@Stratti - Looking at your crash on our end, it appears your crash is happening when ESO is reading a file off disk. Would you be willing to try a couple things to help diagnose the issue?
Assuming you're on windows, in the My Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live folder there should be a file called UserSettings.txt.
Open it up, and modify the following lines from:
SET RequestedNumJobThreads "-1"
SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "-1"
To:
SET RequestedNumJobThreads "0"
SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "0"
See if that removes the crashing. If it does, try adjusting the settings up to 1, see if it crashes, then 2, etc.
If the above doesn't work, try a repair of your game files. It's possible something on disk got corrupted. Open the launcher, click Game Options, then select repair.
Let me know either way if the above steps help. We'll get it squared away.

So after playing for a couple of hours I have had 3 crashes. I will try the repair but I am dubious as to whether this will help. It seems that it will take a very long time but I will hopefully get some time to play test it after.
Yeah well after a full repair - and also using my GeForce program to optimise all settings specifically for TESO - the game crashed in about 20 minutes of playing. It was straight to desktop with the bug report window there.
I am experimenting a crash almost every hour in all kind of circumstances from walking to selecting a thing or interacting in any way and of course in fights or just before a fight. This happens only in the last 2 days. Before that it was only some times where the was some big lag for ex. Tried the previous method but crashed again. So I will try other numbers '1 , 2, etc).
edit: after doing an update of my nvdia card (and putting the recommended options to optimize the game) I have no more crashes. Just a very big lag in daily today by me and other players but nothing to do with the subject.
Nice to hear Alk but perhaps make a new thread for your own crash.
At Ryan from ZOS - where to from here - I have tried all the fixes you showed and it is still happening. What are the options somewhere I read about customer service looking at your machine etc . Please advise as I do enjoy this game and want to keep playing it.
So I just finished a session for an hour and half with no crashes to desktop but three internal crashes to the login screen , looked like DC from the server as a few others got it as well.
I guess that is progress. Although the DC from the network may have prevented the crashes I normally get.
