Crazy lag when going underground.

If I am above-ground, the game works normally. However, when I go to underground to a place like Deepcrag Den or Lower Bthanual, I get terrible lag that makes the game unplayable. This has only happened to me in the past hour. The caves that I am in are not heavily populated, so that is not the cause.
