Trading A Unique Weapon With A Friend?

Me and my friend are playing on the Xbox One, he got a unique weapon drop. He did not want the axe because he is a mage. We tried trading but he didn't have the option to give it. Are we not allowed to trade unique weapons? Sorry, new player

Check the item description for "Bound". Bound items can't be traded. Some bind on equip, so can be traded away as long as you don't put them on, others bind on pickup and can't be traded at all.
