Completing Dungeon Solo?

Hello,

Is it possible to complete a dungeon solo? Let's say, Fungal Grotto?

If so, any tips or advises?

With the right build/setup, sure. Is it worth your time and effort other than creating YouTube vid to boost epeen? Nope.

Mostly.. no.

These dungeons now scale, so you won't "outlevel" them. If you go back at level 49 to Fungal.. all the mobs would be level 49.

There are workarounds to that, but it's generally not a doable thing nowadays

Off topic a little. Is it worth it to run the dungeons more than once? I did in FF14 and had all purples at level 25. Or do the dungeons here work differently?

While it is possible, the main problem is that now all Group Dungeons scale to the group leader's level, since you are the group, all the mobs will be your level and that definitely makes it harder.

However Public Dungeons do not scale to your level and are in general a lot easier to solo, one of my favourite ways to spend some time.

Be aware though that as Public Dungeons are open to everyone unless you are playing at a 'quiet' time you are likely to have lots of company!

You can do most of the non-Veteran version of the dungeons with a great solo PVE build and lots of skill. Occasionally, you'll run into something that blocks a solo player, like the pressure plates at Direfrost Keep that require multiple players to step on them at once. I would start with one of the easier ones, like Volenfell.

There are drops, especially in Veteran version of Dungeons that can make it worthwhile. The undaunted also have a daily quest to run a dungeon.


They are fun and good practice for working with groups. I do them and publics to fill up my bag with stuff to deconstruct. Some of the blue drops are ok from bosses.. and I sometimes get purples in pre-50s. They might not be stuff you want to sue for various reasons though.

It would be a Massive waste of time imo to sit and solo a dungeon.. you could just get like 1-2 other people and rock it out fast. zzzz

It's not necessarily about how fast you can get it done, or what drops/rewards you get. Some people find it a personal challenge to solo group content. I've solo'd group content on several MMO/Mutiplayer games like DC Universe Online and Destiny. I'd like to try it in this game once I've got my character to a decent enough level.

I like the fact that it will take actual planning and skill rather than just out-leveling the content to the point where I can run through it with ease.

In your "waste of time" calculations, did you take into account the time waiting for a group to form in the LFG tool? I can solo half these dungeons in 90 minutes or less, but I've NEVER had the patience to wait for the LFG tool to work. That's not even counting all the time groupers waste asking questions about your gear or making you prove your DPS on mammoths or harassing you to use Teamspeak or whatever.... LOL, just NO.
