Best class for long term investment in champion points.

Like the title says. Please no "whatever you enjoy" replies because I enjoy all the classes equally. I'm looking for a PvP class that I will have the most bang from time invested through champion points ie what class will I see the most from if I invest the most time into it to earn CP's. I most enjoy small scale pvp and ganking. Only asking your opinions not what's written in stone or facts. Thanks

There is no best class, so the default response would be "whatever you enjoy" (sorry mate). Fact of the matter is, the champions points covers a WIDE RANGE of playstyle and even if you spent the next 365 days gaining champion points, you actually only scraped 10% of the skills. Think about first what class you enjoy and that should give you an easier time investing in champion passives that work well for you.

You are asking for the "best class" (as per title) for the return of investment. I answered it, and the right answer is there is NO best class for best return on investment. Our opinions is just that, opinions. If it were me, Templar. Sorcs gets good investment from it as well as NB. Hell DK can take advantage on the range of skill passives available. Take it from someone who have played all classes - it's up to you.

Pick the class you enjoy. If you pick the class for the sole purpose of champion points and not enjoy the class, it will feel like a chore.

Return on what investment? Time ganking? Doesn't seem like an efficient way to get Champion Points anyway.

LMAO Yes you are asking that very question.
If there were just "ONE" class that exceled in "Long term investment" would you not think everyone would be playing ONLY that class.

Also your so called "Best" class to receive a long term investment is only as good as the last update/class nerf.

    This your first MMO ?

Someone could tell you a class and you spend 3 months grinding it and the next day it gets nerfed. Just relax and play what you enjoy.

I think your question is a little confusing to answer.

It doesn't matter what class you are when it comes to earning CP. That is all based the same for all character/races once you reach Vet levels, and you have earned enlightenment. CP's are earned by getting XP, and you can either do Cadwell's Silver and Gold or you can find a grind spot to be able to earn the XP needed.

If you are talking about what available skills are better to invest your CP points in, that can be answered a little better, but it will still be based on the type of character you decide to play, and that is a very individual experience.

I love my Male Vampire Sorcerer and my Lady Templar. But they use different skill sets but because all my characters have access to all earned CP, my points are invested based on each my character's specific needs.

The least I can tell you is invest enough points in the CP skills that give you the Spell Cit % and Wpn Crit%'s.
Far too many characters to list any more.

You can take most any class and modify it to match your play style. Test out all 4 classes and then judge for yourself which one you feel most capable in. Then focus on that one, but keep some alts on the side with a different focus just in case your go to skills get "rebalanced" in the coming months.

Confused on this, are you asking which class will be able to earn the most xp while pvping, generating the most CP? For that you'll want a class that can heal as well as put out solid damage. For healing you'll want a magicka focused build, once you have that limitation in place I think you can eliminate NB. Magicka NB can be very effective in PvP but it's one of the most difficult builds to master. Additionally, Templar magicka builds tend to be a bit weak on the offensive side besides Radiant Destruction. I'd go with a Magicka DK over Sorc, they can output tons of damage while having a great self heal on their bar (Dragon Blood) and can flip to a resto staff and do great heals. Combo healing allies and DPSing enemies is the key to scoring as much XP in pvp as possible.

That being said, the fastest way to earn CP has always been through PvE grinding.

OK to clarify the question I'm asking... Which class after endlessly grinding to earn cp will I see the most benefit from whether it be pve or pvp I don't want to spend all my time on a gimped class just to find out I have a million cp and I'm still gimped. And to those still saying I'm asking what is the best class, I'm not. If were I'd ask more in the time of " what class can I level and *** *** up with without dying and least effort" nope. Simply asking what class will I least be dissapointed with after accumulating a lot of cps from those with experience.. And like I said before not which I most enjoy because I honestly enjoy all classes and play styles but if the class I pick is somehow gimped in what I enjouly doing the most (PvP) then I will not enjoy it any longer therefore I am asking opinions of those who have leveled and experienced in that aspect. What a stupid question. The best long term investment is your enjoyment of the game. Period. If you can't figure that out no one here can help you.

The classes are pretty balanced right now in PvP once a player figures out the strengths and weaknesses of their build (obviously the build has to be a good one). NB and Sorc's do have to rely on surprise and the ability to escape a fight if they're caught off-guard. DK's and Temp's are a bit stronger in a stand up fight but don't have much going for them in the surprise/escape game.

EDIT: TL;DR - There are no gimped classes, only gimped builds. Tamrielfoundry.com has lots of great builds posted in the forums there, find one you like.

I don't understand how its such a stupid question . If you invest your free time into let's say 6 months of a game wouldn't you want to see the best results you possibly could for such a commitment? Or maybe its a stupid question to you because you can invest 10 hours a day into the game and its not really a hard decision.. Hm food for thought :)

Thank you for your help. I kind of figured as much. I want a class that can hold its on in a stand up 1vx fight but have some kind of good escape exit strategy lol.. I'm afraid it doesn't exist though. What's your thoughts on that?

this is an irrelevant question. re-read what someone has already answered above.

your choice of Class in retrospect to Champion Point accumulation is irrelevant. The Champion Points are accountwide, not character-centric. So as an example - Let's say you build a DK like me that's now VR14 and you have all the Champion Points allocated to feats in the skill trees and you still find your character isn't performing quite as well as you would like in PvP - You adjust their skills/gear to fine tune it - Reallocating your Champion Points won't do a great deal at all (OK it'll make some difference but not as much as a skill / gear respect).

If you find you can't get the combination you like and the class is disappointing - Reroll another toon in a different class. Every champion point you have earned with the DK, is available right from the beginning with your new character - you don't need to be VR on that toon to assign them. Level your character up as normal.

DKs have ranged anywhere from solid to OP in PvP since launch. They haven't had a down/underpowered phase yet. Every other class gets to be strong for a few months, then gets nerf for a few months, and then repeats that rotation.

For example, Sorcs have been strong for a bit now and everyone is rolling a Sorc, but pretty soon they are probably going to take a Blizzard style nerf bat(see thread about gear set that hits shielded people harder.) Shields will probably be nerfed again in general to go along with that gear set.

The best long term investment is the DK. Their performance in PvP has been consistent since beta.

Yup and like the poster above said, the champion system is universal. This game is more alt friendly than any other MMO you will play. That will be even more so with the XP potions next week. So, if you don't like your DK, you can easily transition to another class without losing anything.

not really - they took a solid hit on 1.6 when the Flame Lash Exploit was nerfed.. then again when Standard was nerfed.. you had to completely respec to stay competitive at all after 2.0 (hence the migration from magicka to stamina builds)

right now they're bait on their own in Cyro. the real OP problem child in Cyro atm are NB's..
