I have been trying to get my two handed to level up for a while now, but I have been stuck on lv 3 the whole time, and the st at us bar hasn't even filled up a little. My other weapons gain experience just fine, but not two handed. Any ideas?

put cleave on your ability bar and then go earn experience
if you put it on the ability bar and then turn in a high experience rewarding quest you'll probably shoot up several levels

    also read bookcases
End the tedious inventory management game.

I would suggest not reading books/bookcases until your skills start hitting lvl 35.

There are only 6 books per skill line and they provide an entire level regardless of what level you are at. Since each level requires more XP you get a bigger bonus from the books at the higher levels.

This has been the recommendation since prior to the PC launch.

You'll gain more XP for weapon and skill lines by having their skills active on your bar. The more skills from that weapon on your bar, the faster the ability will level. Also, items with training trait will level faster. You can also level abilities that you are not using much by putting them on your skill bar when you turn in a quest. I often stack my 2nd skill bar with abilities I am training, and switch to it when turning in quests.

So you expect players to document the skill book locations and spend time re-slaughtering hundreds of enemies to revisit the bookcase locations? hahaha. It's quicker just to swap skills before turning in big quests.

Also there are way more than 6 books per skill line. My new character is level 12 and has level 7 restoration staff exclusively from bookcases and i've only done the bottom half of Auridon and a third of the delves in cyrodiil.

There are no restoration staff skill books. However, you're right that there aren't necessarily 6 books per line; there's usually fewer, but sometimes more (destro staff has 9. Makes me wonder if half of them were supposed to be resto).

You can't mark locations of skill books, they are random. You don't have to return anywhere. Simply start reading books when you reach a sufficiently high level. There are locations with a large number of books, for example that one temple in Cyrodiil, where you can quickly train your skills that way.
