I don't understand quest sharing.

When we share do we still all have to make our own decisions with the NPC's? If so what's the point of sharing at all?

sometimes yes, sometimes no. Also you share because your questing with a pal perhaps and want to be on the same level/area doing the same things

Dungeon quests, Cyrodiil (PVP) quests, etc. There are many instances where sharing a quest is just a friendly way to make sure the other person has the same quest you're on. :)

if the decisions don't carry through and there is no point in playing with each other because you're doing different things

Not all quests are sharable. Some are part of a 'chain' and if a person doesn't get the first quest, then they won't be able to complete each stage of it. i.e. miss stage 1, there's nothing to turn in for stage 2,etc etc.

But the quests that are sharable - it's so they can pick up the quest and help/do it with you.
I ran with a guildie in the early days of ESO and they would pick one answer and I'd pick another. Generally, those results aren't game changing. I think the worst thing that happened was that they had to kill a few more NPCs than I did.
The person that picked Answer A may see a different npc than the person that picked Answer B.

Not all quests have decisions that impact the outcome as you are speaking.

The whole system is just stupid. It feels less like playing with friends(ie you know like an MMO should be) and more like everyone sitting in the same room playing the same single player game.

Sorry brah. For me, the leveling process felt like it was meant to be a full-blown solo adventure. Grouping came in towards the end of the Veteran Rank (VR) grind with dungeons and PVP.

It is what it is I guess. Just disappointing to see such a mediocre game from such a good developer. I should have done more research before plopping down the money.

    Sorry you feel that way.

The game is truly one of the best throughout the 1 - 50 adventure. You may turn even more sour once you ding VR1. =\

It may make more sense when you realise this is the only game Zenimax Online Studios (ZOS) have developed. Bethesda, who developed the SP games, had little to do with it (so don't be too hard on them).

I don't understand your problem. Most quests in the game do share progress. The reason that both players have to talk to NPC's in quests and do some other things is to stop 1 person from being able to go afk while someone else does all their quests for them. This is the same system and most MMO's so you really have no argument here.
