Merchants on map

Is there any particular reason merchants don't appear on the map? For a new player like myself, to know where I can go to sell all my stuff would be pretty helpful. Even if they only showed up after you've discovered them for the first time would be greatly appreciated.

Wandering merchants wont ever appear but the merchants in town always show up as a scale and if you hover over it it'll say which merchants and their names etc. hope that helps!

There are just too many of them to show on the zone map but as stated above, if you zoom into a city map you can see all merchants there.

The zone map does show guild store merchants that are in the open world ...

Is the console map different from the PC map? Because on PC, when you are looking at a city map, it will have a "Market" symbol and will show you what merchants you can find there when you hover over them. There are also symbols for the crafting stations, which in towns usually mean there is a vendor for that craft.

As others already mentioned, if you zoomed into the city map, it should tell you which merchants is available and what they do.
