You'll get used to it, especially when you become more familiar with the compass markers and what they mean.
It's not what you're used to, that's all.

Ah the joys of no longer playing on PC/MAC... No players modding the game!!!

I object. Your minimap will break my immersion. I won't allow it.
Seriously though, it's been one of the most common complaints ever since the PC launch. There actually was a minimap in the beta, but ZOS removed it at one point because ZOS logic. And now we all have to do with addons. I guess console players are out of luck.

Multiplayer isn't really an Elder Scrolls thing. Or cosmetic crafting styles. Or fishing. Or exclusive class skills. This entire game shouldn't exist if you want to stay true to your flawed vision of the Elder Scrolls traditions.Mini maps are not really an elder scrolls thing and I hope they never will be.

They pulled it during the time when the game was too MMO, not enough Elder Scrolls. Minimaps are not Elder Scrolls, hence, no minimap.I did not know this. Are you serious?
It's one thing not to create a feature to begin with. But it is ludicrous to spend man hours on something then pull it out unless it was crappy.
You know, the reason I never understood the resistance to minimaps is that they're the least conflicting with the Elder Scrolls spirit change we got. How is it so different from a compass? Other than being 10x easier to orient yourself with. It's funny, but since I started using a minimap, I've been paying more attention to my immediate surroundings. That's because I no longer pull up the world map every 5 minutes, I just glance at the corner of the screen for a second and I'm back to playing. Immersion is a strange thing. They pulled it during the time when the game was too MMO, not enough Elder Scrolls. Minimaps are not Elder Scrolls, hence, no minimap.
